However, when the natural radioactive minerals disclosed in this publication were added to form synthetic resin sheets and synthetic resin bags, and fresh foods were packaged with these, although an anti-mold effect was observed, the freshness was reduced due to dehydration. It was not practical as a packaging material for preserving freshness (Comparative Example 1).

When fresh foods are stored in packaging molded products of various shapes made by adding such typical metal element compounds and natural radioactive minerals to thermoplastic synthetic resins or thermosetting synthetic resins, the freshness of the food products can be maintained as before. Not only does it guarantee superior freshness compared to other agents, but it also exhibits excellent anti-mildew and deodorizing effects.

Furthermore, when vegetables are packaged and stored using the packaging material of the present invention, they may grow and become larger than before packaging. This is thought to be because the synergistic effect of the typical metal element compound used in the present invention and the natural radioactive mineral stimulates and activates the vitality of the vegetables.
