ラインにおけるサイドトリミング方法およびその装置に
関し、金属ストリップの焼鈍、酸洗、めっき等のプロセ
ス操業に利用される。

が多い。すなわち,耳切代が多すぎると、耳屑の処理装
置が過負荷となり正常に作動しなくなるばかりでなく、
歩留を悪化させることになる. また、耳切代が少な過ぎると、十分なサイドトリミング
が不可能となり、トリマー刃が逃げて耳付きコイルを発
生させたり,耳部に疵が発生するおそれがあるほか、所
定の製品幅を確保することができなくなる場合もある. 通常連続プロセスラインに提供されるコイルは、同一人
側コイルでは同一板幅であることを原則とするが、熱間
圧延時のいわゆるネッキング等により、第3図に示す如
く、部分的に板幅が増減している場合がある。この場合

リップのサイドトリミング方法において、前記連続プロ
セスラインに連続板幅計を設け前記金属ストリップの板
幅を連続的に測定する段階と,前記連続板幅計により検
出された板幅異常部開始点に切欠きを入れる段階と、前
記板幅異常部開始点が前記サイドトリマーに接近した時
点でラインスピードを低減する段階と、前記サイドトリ
マーの設定幅を板幅異常部終了点まで拡大する段階と、
前記板幅異常部終了点に切欠きを入れる段階と、前記サ
イドトリマーの設定幅およびラインスピードを復原する
段階と、を有することを特徴とする連続プロセスライン
における金属ストリップのサイドトリミング方法である
.しかして、本発明によるサイドトリミング装置の要旨
とするところは次の如くである.金属ストリップの連続
プロセス部の出側に該ストリップの耳部を切断するサイ
ドトリマーを有して成る連続プロセスラインにおける金
属ストリップのサイドトリミング装置において、前記サ
イドトリマーの直前に設けられ前記金属ストリップの両
側端部に切欠きを入れるサイドノツチャ−と、前記サイ
ドノツチャ−の上流に設けられ前記金属ストリップの板
幅を連続的に測定する板幅計と,を有することを特徴と
する連続プロセスラインにおける金属ストリップのサイ
ドトリミング装置である. 先ず、本発明による連続プロセスラインにおける金属ス
トリップのサイドトリミング装置について説明する.ペ
イオフリール10によって巻戻された金属ストリップ1
の先端部は、溶接機11によって先行鋼帯の尾端部に溶
接され、入側ルーパー12を経て、焼鈍炉,めっき装置
、酸洗槽等のプロセス部13における処理を行った後、
出側ルーパー14を経て、サイドトリマ−15で耳切り
を行い、シャー16で所定の長さに切断された後,最終
工程のテンションリール17でコイル状に巻取られて製
品コイルとして出荷される.上記の如き従来のプロセス
ラインにおいて,本発明では、サイドトリマ−15の直
前に金属ストリップ1の両側端部に切欠きを入れるサイ
ドノツチャ−21を設け,更に,サイドノツチャ−21
の上流に、金属ストリップ1の板幅を連続的に測定する
連続板幅計20を設けたのが特徴である.板幅計20は
,サイドノツチャ−21の上流ならば特に限定する必要
がないが,少くとも出側ルーパー14よりも上流側が望
ましく,第1図では溶接機11の上流に設けられている

端部に切欠きを入れるサイドノツチャ−を設け、更に、
このサイドノツチャ−の上流に金属ストリップの板幅を
連続的に測定する板幅計を設けたので、上記従来の問題
点を解消し、次の如き効果を収めることができた.(イ
)板幅異常のある金属ストリップでも、完全自動運転で
耳切り作業が可能となり、従来の如き監視要員が不要と
なった。
