Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the hand of a raising layer by applying specified pile dispersion liquid on a soft urethane film provided on a specified primer treated rubber molded product main body while said film is not dried yet and forming a pile raising layer. CONSTITUTION:1-20wt.% of piles of 0.5-3.0 denier diameter and 0.1-2mm length are added to a solvent and dispersed therein to prepare dispersion liquid. A rubber molded product main body 1 of an ethylene propylene rubber product is treated with a solvent-like primer containing chlorinated polypropylene or acrylic modified EPDM to form a primer layer 2. Then, a soft urethane film 5 is formed on the primary layer 2, and spray coating using said dispersion is applied to said film 5 before the same is dried to form a pile raising layer (filling layer) 7. At that time, the pile raising layer 7 is formed by burying and fixing the pile portion.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION <Industrial Application Field> The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a rubber molded article made of ethylene propylene rubber (hereinafter abbreviated as rEPRJ) having a fabric-like appearance. Here, the applicable products include mainly rubber molded products for automobiles such as shift lever boots, window frame rubber, mudguards, floor mats, hoses, etc.

<Conventional technology> Conventionally, EPR compounds containing carbon black have excellent weather resistance, ozone resistance, weather resistance, etc., so many of the above rubber molded products for automobiles are made of EPR. The mainstream method for imparting a fabric-like appearance to rubber molded products has generally been to use electrostatic flocking.

However, equipment for electrostatic flocking is expensive and has a large initial cost, making it unsuitable for high-mix, low-volume production in response to recent demands for diversification of designs for the same molded product. Furthermore, the high-voltage electrostatic field of electrostatic flocking is directional, and it is difficult to form a uniform flocking surface (fabric surface) on uneven molded products. was limited.

Either one-component type such as oil modified type, moisture curing type, block type, or two-component type such as catalyst curing type or polyol curing type may be used.
From the viewpoint of coating performance, a polyol-cured isocyanate component is preferred. The isocyanate component of the urethane paint is preferably an aliphatic or cyclic type, so-called non-yellowing one. This is especially true for rubber molded products that are used outdoors and are often exposed to ultraviolet rays and the like.

Note that this urethane paint usually contains a coloring agent, a desiccant, a thickener, a leveling agent, and an ultraviolet absorber as appropriate. In addition, as the solvent, one or more solvents are usually selected from aromatic, aliphatic, ester, and ketone solvents. Also, the degree of softness of the urethane coating is usually determined by: The tensile elongation should be 50% or more. The coating method is not particularly limited, and may be appropriately selected and used, such as brush coating, flow coating, roll coating, and spray coating.

Thereafter, the drying may be carried out at room temperature, but from the viewpoint of productivity, drying is usually carried out for a period of 60 to 100 m depending on the heat resistance temperature of the pile. If the pile thickness and length are smaller than the above values, the uprightness of the pile from the urethane coating surface 5a will be weak, and the length of the pile protruding from the urethane coating surface 5a will be small, resulting in an increased fabric feeling. This is undesirable because the bulkiness, which is a factor, decreases. If it is larger than the above value, the spray gun is likely to become clogged and spray painting becomes difficult.

In addition, if the amount of pile added is less than 1%, the pile density on the surface of the rubber molded product becomes rough, making it difficult to impart a fabric feel to the surface of the rubber molded product, and if it exceeds 20%, as above,
