Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve property of preventing adverse effect of copper while retaining resistance against heat and flexibility by coating a copper conductor with a composition and subjecting it to radioactive irradiation for cross linking which composition is made by adding a specified amount of titanium white and a cross link assist agent to a resin containing two kinds of specified copolymer. CONSTITUTION:A composition made by adding 1 - 30 weight % of titanium white containing less than 2 weight % of surface treatment agent and Al as an impurity and 0.5 weight % or more of cross link assist agent to 100 weight parts of resin composition containing a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and alpha-olefine with with carbon number of 2 - 4, and ethylene-tetrafluoro-olefine copolymer is used to coat the outer circumference of a copper conductor. Irradiating the coating layer with radioactive rays for cross linking provides an insulated copper cable with an elastomer coating containing fluorine and of a high mechanical strength, heat resistance and flexibility inherent to copper, while improving protection from adverse effect of copper.

ン白を1〜30重量部及び架橋助剤を0.5重量部以上
添加してなる組成物が銅導体の外周に被覆層として形成
され、該被覆層は放射線の照射により架橋されてなるこ
とを特徴とする含ふっ素エラストマ被覆絶縁電線。
