Abstract

PURPOSE:To stably hold the contact state of magnetic heads and a recording medium and to prolong the life of the recording medium and the magnetic heads by forming a groove part provided between first and second slider parts in parallel to a magnetic head core in such a way that negative pressure occurs by means of air flow near the heads based on the shift of the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A first slider 3 having a read/write core and a second slider 4 which is adjacent to the first slider 3 are provided and the groove 1 provided in parallel to the read/write core 2 is formed between two sliders. A part of the groove part is furthermore planed and it is worked in a form where negative pressure occurs by air flow near the head based on the rotating recording medium. Consequently, absorption force by negative pressure occurs even if the recording medium 9 rotates at high speed. Thus, the contact state of the recording medium and the magnetic heads 7 and 8 can stably be held and the life of the recording medium 9 can be kept long.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Field of Industrial Application 1] The present invention relates to a magnetic head that is brought into stable contact with a recording medium.[Prior Art] The function of a magnetic head is to control a recording medium in accordance with an electric signal.
It consists of writing that changes the magnetic field, and reading that detects magnetization reversal in the recording medium and converts it into an electrical signal. Therefore, if there is a gap between the recording medium and the magnetic head, the shorter the recording wavelength, the more the magnetic flux will create a closed magnetic path in the air, and during playback, only a small amount of the magnetic flux emitted from the recording medium will reach the magnetic head. Furthermore, when writing, it is not possible to write deeply into the recording medium. For this reason, 68. This makes it impossible to ensure the performance of the air head device. In recent years, magnetic head devices have become denser and the recording wavelength has become shorter, so there is a need to stably improve the adhesion between the recording medium and the magnetic head. Conventionally, in order to solve this problem and maintain a stable relationship between the recording medium and the magnetic head, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 14576 (1988) was designed to reduce the contact area with the recording medium.
A magnetic head designated by 0 has been proposed. Figure 4 (a
) is a top view of a conventional magnetic head, and FIG. 4(b) is a side view of the conventional magnetic head. retorite core 12
The area of the contact portion I5 between the first slider 13 having the read/write core and the recording medium is smaller than the area of the contact portion 16 between the slider 14 having no read/write core and the recording medium.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention C] However, in recent years, as magnetic head devices have become more dense and faster, the above-mentioned conventional technology cannot maintain a stable contact state between the recording medium and the magnetic head when the recording medium rotates at high speed. The problem is that it cannot be obtained. Furthermore, in the conventional example, the head load remains the same but the contact area becomes smaller, so the contact pressure increases and the 6R
Another problem is that wear between the air heads is likely to occur, resulting in a shortened lifespan.

Therefore, the present invention aims to solve these problems.
The purpose is to provide a magnetic head that can maintain stable contact between the magnetic head and the recording medium even when the recording medium rotates at high speed, and that can maintain a long lifespan between the recording medium and the magnetic head. There is a particular thing.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The magnetic head of the present invention has a first magnetic head having a read/write core.
A pair of UI main air heads each have a slider portion and a second slider portion adjacent to the first slider portion, and the first slider portion of one of the 1a air heads is connected to the other magnetic head. In the magnetic head device, the first slider section and the second slider section of both magnetic heads are in contact with each other on both sides via a media. The present invention is characterized in that a groove portion provided parallel to the magnetic head core between the slider portion and the second slider portion is formed so as to generate negative pressure by airflow near the head due to movement of the recording medium.

[Embodiment 1] An embodiment of the present invention will be described below based on the drawings. First, FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a magnetic head commonly used in magnetic head devices. Read/write 1 - has a first slider 3 having a core and a second slider 4 adjacent to the first slider 3, and between these two sliders is a groove provided parallel to the read/write core 3. 1 is formed. In this example, a portion of this groove portion was further cut away to create a shape that would generate negative pressure by the airflow near the head caused by the rotating recording medium.

FIG. 1(a) is a top view of an embodiment of the magnetic head of the present invention, and FIG. 1(b) is a perspective view thereof. Figure 1 (
As shown in b), based on the rotating recording medium, an airflow is generated in the same direction as the traveling direction of the recording medium, and the groove l has a read/write core so that it becomes wider on the inflow side and the outflow side of the airflow. Since the first slider 3 and the second slider 4 having no read/write core are processed, the contact portion 5 of the first slider and the contact portion 6 of the second slider with respect to the recording medium are at the center. Since it is wide, the airflow is constricted near the read/write gap lo.

Due to this attractive force, even when the recording medium rotates at high speed, the contact state between the magnetic head and the recording medium is maintained stably. Therefore, there is no need to narrow the contact area of the first slider.
There is no risk of shortening the life of the magnetic head and recording medium. Further, in this embodiment, only the groove portion of the general magnetic head shown in FIG. 5 is processed, and a magnetic head capable of high-speed rotation can be easily manufactured.

In this embodiment, the groove portion is processed to be wider on the air outflow side. In the case of such a groove shape, if the groove part of the other pair of magnetic heads is made wider on the air inflow side, the suction force can be balanced on the air inflow and outflow sides, and the 6n air head and the recording medium can be balanced. read/write gap lO
Nearby contact status becomes stable. As mentioned above, Figure 3 (
3(a) is a perspective view of an embodiment in which the widening groove portions of a pair of magnetic heads are arranged on opposite sides with respect to the medium traveling direction, and FIG. FIG. In FIG. 3(a), the first magnetic head 7 has a groove formed on the air inflow side, and the second magnetic head 8 has a groove formed on the air outflow side. In this case, the recording medium 9 is attracted to the first magnetic head 7 on the outflow side and the second magnetic head 8 on the inflow side due to the attraction force caused by the negative pressure, and as a whole, the magnetic head and the recording medium come into contact near the read/write gap 10. The condition remains stable even during high speed rotation.

[Effects of the Invention] As described above, according to the present invention, even when the recording medium rotates at high speed, the contact state between the recording medium and the magnetic head is maintained stably by the attraction force caused by the negative pressure, and the contact between the magnetic head and the recording medium is maintained stable. It has the effect of being able to maintain a long service life.
