(Prior art) A conventional paper sheet binding device is disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 6210972, for example.
As seen in Publication No. 3, paper sheets to be bundled are stacked in a stacking section, and when a certain number of sheets (usually 100 in the case of banknotes) is reached, the stacked paper sheets are transported to the bundling section by a conveying means. At this point, the tape is passed between the holders and held by the holder, and the tape end is inserted between the leaves of the paper sheets held in the holder using the divider as a guide, and by pulling out the divider, the tape end is sandwiched between the leaves. After the holders are attached, the tape is wrapped around the holders, the tape is cut, and the cut ends are glued together to complete the binding operation, after which the bound paper sheets are pushed out from between the holders and released.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) However, in the above-mentioned conventional apparatus, the stacked state of paper sheets tends to collapse between the time when the paper sheets stacked in the stacking section are transferred between the holders by the conveyance means and the paper sheets are delivered to the holders, and the paper sheets are easily bundled. There was a problem in that the subsequent paper sheets were disturbed and the aesthetic appearance was spoiled. In addition, since the tape is inserted between the leaves using a divider, it is easy to damage the paper sheets, and it is necessary to wrap the tape around the holder and bind it, and then pull out the binding tape from the holder. There were various problems such as damage to the pressing end of the press.

Thereafter, the pinching members 115 and 116 further rotate to wrap the tape T around the banknote P, but at this time, when it passes through the tip of the tape passage 111 of the tape supply means 14, that is, the fixed position shown in FIG. 16(A). If the cam follower 122 of the movable pinching member 116 rides on the cam part 124 when passing the tape T, the tape T will be released from the grip, so the solenoid 126 is activated during the second pass, pulling the cam member 123 and letting the cam part 124 escape. Even when the cam follower 122 of the movable pinching member 116 comes around, it does not interfere with the cam part 124, and therefore passes through while holding the tape T. Then, when the holding members 115 and 116 rotate one or more revolutions and reach a position where a portion of the tape T overlaps (FIG. 16(F)), the means 15 stops winding the tape. Thereafter, the left and right clamp members 83 and 84 move together toward the bundling position A by the action of the cams 90 and 105, and clamp the other end of the banknote P that is being held by the pinching claws 53 and 54 of the holding and transferring means 12. . As a result, the tape T is attached to the clamp member 83.8.
4 (Fig. 13 (F)). Next, the motor 114 of the tape supply means 14 is rotated in reverse for a predetermined period of time to apply tension to the tape T. At this time, when the tension of the tape T reaches an amount due to the friction between the tape surface and the roller 113, the roller 113 then slips, so that the tape T binds the banknote P with a constant tightening force. Thereafter, the motor 114 is rotated in the normal direction by a predetermined number of pulses to feed out a portion of the tape T, thereby weakening the tightening force by the tape T a little.

After cutting the tape, the motor 133 of the means 15 is driven to wind the tape, and the movable frame 117 is moved backward (to the left in FIG. 13) via the lever 136 and the swing arm 138, thereby shifting the gear 132 to the gear 141. While engaged, slide and pull the shaft 118, and pull the pinch members 115 and 116 to remove the tape T wrapped around the banknote P from under it. Thereafter, the stamp 91 moves forward and a predetermined stamp is made on the surface of the tape T.

Also, the timing of thermal bonding of the tape T is either one that starts thermal bonding after cutting the tape, or one that starts thermal bonding before cutting the tape and continues to thermally bond the cut end of tape T after cutting the tape. It may be. Further, the timing for releasing the clamping of paper sheets at the binding position A by the pinching claws 52, 53 may be earlier or later than the timing for releasing the clamping of the paper sheets by the clamp members 82, 83.

[Effects of the Invention] As explained above, according to the present invention, the paper sheets arranged in the stacking section are held by the holding and transferring means and moved to the bundling position, and during this time, the tape is wrapped at the bundling position by the means. The tape is placed in a slack state between certain opposing clamp members, and the paper sheet is moved between the opposing clamp members by movement of the clamping and transferring means, and when the paper sheet reaches the binding position, the tape winding means The paper sheets are wrapped with tape, and the tape is wrapped around the paper sheets by gripping the part with a clamping means, and under the gripping condition, the tape after being wrapped around the paper sheets is tightened and tied, so the alignment state of the paper sheets can be checked. To obtain bound paper sheets that can be bound without breaking, are not disturbed after being bundled, and have a good appearance. In addition, when wrapping tape around a certain number of paper sheets and tying them together, there is no need to insert the end of the tape between the leaves using a divider as in the past, so there is no need to damage the paper sheets, and even after tying them together. The bundled paper sheets can be released by simply releasing the tightening means.
This eliminates the need for the conventional holder to be tied together and then to pull out the holder after the holder is tied, and the damage to paper sheets that occurs when pulling out the holder is also eliminated.
