〔従来の技術〕
従来の磁気記憶装置にはMn−ZnフェライトやNi−
Znフェライトなどのフエライト材で作られた磁気ヘッ
ドが用いられていた.しかし、近年になって、記録再生
特性が優れているとの理由でバーマロイ等で代表される
磁性薄膜により磁気回路を形或した薄膜磁気ヘッドが使

記録時において薄膜磁気ヘッド内に作られる磁束の大部
分はギャップ内14を通り、ヘッド先端を通って媒体側

性薄1lA12・13の厚みが薄いため磁気回路の磁気
抵抗が高く、非磁性とはいえギャップ内14を磁束が通
りやすいためである。このため、ヘッド先端に多くの磁
束が届くようにする、言い換えれば記録磁界を強くする
ためには,ギャップ深さを小さくする、磁性薄膜の厚み
を厚くすることが必要である。ヘッド先端部の形状を精
度良く作る必要があるのはこのためである.
本発明は、上記手段の他に,磁気記録媒体への磁気抵抗
を小さくすることによりヘッド先端に届き記録磁界に寄
与する磁束量を増加するものであり、磁気記録媒体に高
透磁率の軟磁性体を混入する。この手段は、従来の記憶
媒体に軟磁性粉を混入するという容易な変更で薄膜ヘッ
ドの記録磁界を強めることができる。すなわち、記録特

第1図において、アルミ基板22上にγ−Fe,O,粉
23を50Wt%,パーマロイ微粉24を5Wt%,有
機樹脂25を45Wt%を或分とする磁性塗料を塗布,
加熱硬化した.さらにアルミ基板22上の記憶媒体部厚
さが約0.5μlとなるように研磨加工を行ない、ディ
スク状の記憶媒体を作或した。この記憶媒体と従来通り
に作られた薄膜磁気ヘッドとをディスク装置に取り付け
オーバーライト特性を測定した。表1にその結果を従来
の記憶媒体(パーマロイ微粉O%)の結果と共に示した
。同表にはパーマロイ微粉10Wt%の記憶媒体での結
果も示した。同表より、バーマロイ微粉を添加した磁気
ディスクではオーバーライト特性が向上しており、薄膜
磁気ヘッドの記録磁界が強まっていることがわかる.
〔発明の効果〕
本発明によれば、従来の磁気記録媒体に高透磁率の軟磁
性粉を混入するという簡易な方法で、薄膜ヘッドを用い
た磁気記憶装置の記録特性を向上させるという効果があ
