Abstract

PURPOSE:To form especially a thick film of ultraviolet curing type printing ink on a transparent plastic film or sheet to be cured by a method wherein printing is performed with ultraviolet curing type printing ink and when reaction curing by radiation of ultraviolet is performed, the ink is cured by radiating in a supplementary manner ultraviolet rays from a rear face side of a printing surface. CONSTITUTION:When a transparent or semitransparent film or sheet is printed with ultraviolet curing type printing ink, and the ink is cured by reaction by radiation of ultraviolet beams, the ultraviolet beams are in a supplementary manner radiated from a rear face side of a printing surface, and the ink is cured with transmitted light. An ultraviolet lamp to be used is generally a high pressure mercury lamp or a metal halide lamp. Further, for a cooling method, either of air cooling or water cooling may be preferable. By using such a method, a thicker film than a film thickness of printing ink conventionally curable will be capable of being cured by comparatively less energy consumption. This curing method is extremely effective especially for curing of printing, improvement of adhesive property between an original material and the ink, and execution of printing at high speed.

Detailed Description of the Invention "Objective of the Invention" (Industrial Field of Application) The present invention is designed to print an ultraviolet curable printing ink in a particularly thick film, and to cure it by ultraviolet irradiation using extremely low energy. Alternatively, the present invention relates to a curing method that allows reaction curing at high speed.

(Prior Art) In recent years, the use of ultraviolet curable printing inks has been rapidly expanding due to its energy-saving, space-saving, and quick-curing characteristics, which allow for post-processing immediately after printing, and because of its anti-pollution measures. Along with this, the types of substrates to be printed are rapidly increasing, and with the improvement of the adhesion, scratch resistance, and abrasion resistance of UV-curable printing inks, in particular polyvinyl chloride,
Its use is expanding to include various plastic films or sheets such as polypropylene, polyethylene, polypropylene, and polyester.

Printing with ultraviolet curable printing ink on these plastic films or sheets used to be printed using silk screen printing, but because this is often switched to for the purpose of cost reduction, it is now printed using silk screen printing. In many cases, a printing effect similar to that of a transparent film or sheet is required, and hiding properties are also required for transparent films or sheets, so the film thickness of UV-curable printing ink has to be thicker than that for printing on paper. is the reality.

However, as it is known, ultraviolet curable printing inks have extremely low transmittance of ultraviolet rays, especially in dark colors such as indigo and black, so as the film thickness of the printing ink increases, its curing properties are extremely reduced. I'll come.

Therefore, in recent years, printing speed has been reduced when using ultraviolet curable printing inks on these films or sheets. Alternatively, after printing is completed, ultraviolet rays are irradiated one more time. Alternatively, the current situation is that the situation is being dealt with by methods such as adding new ultraviolet lamps.

Although there is a need to improve the curability of UV-curable printing inks, the reality is that this cannot be achieved due to the curing principle of UV-curable printing inks.
