が凍結することがある。そこで昼間長時間外出す
る時や就寝時に分岐管内の水を地中に放出する必
要が生じ水抜栓が考案された。水抜栓1は第1図
に示すごとく、水道管2に取付ける水道管取付部
3と分岐管取付部4、排出部5を有し、分岐管6
は一端は分岐管取付部4に接続し、他端は蛇口7
に接続している。通常は蛇口7を開閉して水道水
を使用するが、就寝時には水抜栓のハンドル8を
操作して分岐管6内の水を排水部5から地中に放
出する。蛇口7にホース9を継いで、これを電気
洗濯機または洗面器10に直結して給水している
時に、水道本管の工事等で急に断水すると、本管
に負圧が生じ、洗濯機や洗面器内の汚水がホース

27の一部は切欠き部34に押され、小孔30は
露出するため、膨張により発生した高い圧は第5
図に示すように小孔30、丸棒部17と逆流防止
弁23との隙間、切欠き部28を通り流入(一
