Transparent electrodes were provided on two pieces of glass, and the amount of light transmitted could be controlled by adjusting the area of the electrodes to which voltage was applied. Furthermore, as described in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 60-6092, a device has been devised in which a liquid crystal layer is provided on the window glass of an automobile in the same manner as in the conventional example, and the device is used as a blind device. In this example, it is not considered that the area of the electrode to which voltage is applied is variable.

An object of the present invention is to freely draw pictures and patterns on window glass.

A set of frame memories, a display driver that drives the liquid crystal display device from the image information from this frame memory, creates an image or takes it out from the storage device, cuts out an image in the range of each liquid crystal display device, and sequentially stores it in the corresponding frame memory. This is achieved by providing a computer that manages images to be transmitted.

By sequentially repeating this operation, the image will be drawn on the entire window. In this case, since the image corresponding to the part of the crosspiece between the liquid crystal display device and the adjacent liquid crystal display device is removed and displayed, the part of the crosspiece is not displayed, but the displayed image does not become discontinuous between the liquid crystal display devices. .

FIG. 1 shows the overall hardware configuration of the present invention. 1 is a computer, and 2 is an optical disk device that stores images to be displayed. 3 is an image bus 51 to 56 that sends image information and control information from the computer to control circuits 41 to 43;
is a frame memory that stores images. Two frame memories are provided on each side, and by writing to the frame memory that is being displayed and the frame memory on another side, it is possible to prevent the image from being distorted when updating one image. Generally, a method called a double buffer method is adopted.

Here, regarding the liquid crystal display device 61, image information in the range handled by the liquid crystal display device 61 is stored in the frame memory 51 or the frame memory 52 and displayed. The control circuits 41 to 43 receive and store image information in the 5 frame memories 51 to 56, control the planes of the frame memories 51 to 56 for displaying one image, and the plane of the frame memory to write image information, according to instructions from a computer.

In block 6 83, which connects the selected liquid crystal display device, for example 61, to the control circuit 41 through the image bus 3, the image shared by one selected liquid crystal display device is generated from graphic information or taken in from the optical disk 2. When the size and position of one selected liquid crystal display device are cut out from the entire image and this information is placed on the image bus 3, the selected control circuit, currently the control circuit 41, takes in the information and stores it in the frame memory 51.
Alternatively, it is written to the frame memory 52.
