Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a foreign matter stuck to an adhesive material by forming the antistatic film on the surface of the polarizing plate stuck to a liquid crystal display element with the adhesive material which is coated with a releasable separator film. CONSTITUTION:The antistatic film 12 is formed on the surface of the linear polarizing plate 11 which is the polarizing plate by applying an appropriate antistatic agent on the surface of the polarizing plate, and a protective film 13 is mounted on the antistatic film 12. The adhesive material 14 is stuck on the rear side of the linear polarizing plate 11 which is covered with the releasable separator film 15. The linear polarizing plate 11 is stuck to the liquid crystal display element with the adhesive material 14 exposed by peeling the separator film 15. Therefore, as the most part of an electrostatic charge generated at the time of peeling the separator film is discharged in the air, thereby reducing the electrostatic charge amount of the polarizing plate itself, the electric field intensity of the polarizing plate influenced to a fibrous or a dusty foreign matter is reduced. Thus, the foreign matter stuck to the adhesive material is reduced.

In addition, in order to prevent damage to the surface of the linear polarizing plate 1 after it is mounted on a final product, there is also a known one in which a hard coat film 6 is provided on the surface side of the linear polarizing plate 1 by coating, as shown in FIG. It is being

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, the above-mentioned linear polarizing plate 1 is charged by static electricity generated when the separator film 3 is peeled off, and due to the influence of this static electricity, it is not covered by the separator film 3 of the adhesive material 4. Fibrous foreign matter attached to the side exposed area or dust-like foreign matter floating in the air may adhere to the exposed adhesive material 4. If the linear polarizing plate 1 is attached to the liquid crystal display element 5 using the material 4, there is a risk that foreign matter defects or bubble defects may occur.

In addition, the electrostatic charge described above causes the electrode parts of the liquid crystal display element 5 to be charged, and an electric field other than the electric field due to the normal applied voltage is applied to the liquid crystal display element 5, causing variations in the amount of charge and uneven contrast of the liquid crystal display. There were also problems that arose.

In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the polarizing plate with an antistatic film according to the present invention has an adhesive coated with a removable separator film attached, and the separator film is peeled off to expose the adhesive material. The polarizing plate is attached to a liquid crystal display element using an adhesive material, and is characterized in that an antistatic film is formed on the surface of the polarizing plate.

According to the above configuration, since the antistatic film is formed on the surface of the polarizing plate, most of the static electricity generated when the separator film is peeled off is discharged into the air, and the amount of charge on the polarizing plate itself is reduced. Therefore, the electric field strength that acts on fibrous foreign matter and dust-like foreign matter is also reduced, which reduces the number of foreign matter that adheres to the adhesive material, which also reduces the possibility of foreign matter defects or air bubble defects when a polarizing plate is attached to a liquid crystal display element. It becomes difficult. Furthermore, the strength of the electric field applied to the electrode portions of the liquid crystal display element due to static electricity caused by peeling off the separator film becomes small, so that uneven contrast in the liquid crystal display is less likely to occur.

As shown in FIG. 1, an antistatic film 12 is formed on the surface of a linear polarizing plate 11 as a polarizing plate by coating an appropriate antistatic agent by a spray method, a dip method, a roll coater method, etc. has been done. Although surfactants can be used as the antistatic agent, siloxane-based antistatic paints, such as those manufactured by Colcoat Co., Ltd. Corkor N-103X, which is currently manufactured, can be suitably used. It is preferable that the surface resistance value of the antistatic film 12 is set to about 10 6 to 10 10 Ω/portion (however, square means square, and if it is square, the resistance value is the same regardless of the size). Note that a protective film 13 is provided on the surface of the antistatic film 12.
