Marking using a laser has been carried out for a long time. This involves irradiating a low-energy laser onto the object to be marked whose surface is made of plastic film after passing through a mask, burning the surface and creating a gap between it and other parts. A technique for creating a difference in strength is disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 151496/1983. With this method, it became possible to mark the date of manufacture, straw holes, etc., but when marking was done by burning the surface of the plastic film, the burned material of the plastic film was scattered and the laser was focused. It adhered to the optical lens, making it impossible to achieve its original purpose. To prevent this, it is possible to eliminate the need to clean the condenser lens by attaching a plastic cap to the condenser lens, but if combustion material adheres to the cap, marking defects will occur as well. , the cap had to be replaced. Therefore, it has been impossible to perform marking continuously for a long time.

In a marking method in which a low-energy laser passes through a mask and then irradiates the object to be marked whose surface is made of a plastic layer through a condensing lens, burning the surface and marking the object, combustion burns the plastic layer on the surface. This is intended to prevent marking defects and decreases in marking efficiency due to scattering of objects.

When a low-energy laser passes through a mask and then passes through a condenser lens to irradiate an object to be marked whose surface is made of a plastic layer, a transparent plastic film that continuously moves between the condenser lens and the object to be marked is passed through. The problem was solved by irradiating it with a laser.

Even if burnt substances on the plastic layer on the surface of the object to be marked are scattered by laser irradiation, the burnt substances do not adhere to the condenser lens, making continuous marking possible.

As shown in FIG. 1, a marking device 2 is used to mark a predetermined location on a marking object 1 made of a polyester/polyethylene/aluminum foil/polyethylene laminated film. The laser is transmitted through a mask 4 and then through a condensing lens 5. This is a marking method using a laser, in which a laser beam is irradiated through a polyethylene film 6 that moves continuously between the object to be marked 1 and a condenser lens 5 during marking.

Since the present invention performs marking by the method described above, the burned material on the plastic layer on the surface of the object to be marked does not adhere to the condenser lens and can be shielded with a polyethylene film. Since the polyethylene film is continuously moving even if the burning material adheres, it does not prevent the laser beam from irradiating the object to be marked, and good marking is possible.

Furthermore, conventionally, when laser marking was done by attaching a plastic cap to the condenser lens, it had to be replaced approximately every 5 minutes, but with the method of the present invention, a continuous polyethylene cap is used. Continuous irradiation is now possible, improving marking efficiency.
