りプラスチツク部材4及び5内に摩擦熱が発生し
て溶融する。この際、小突起3の食い込み周辺に
はプラスチツク部材4の歪み7が盛り上がるが、
音極1を更に加圧してその端面2をプラスチツク
部材4の上面に同図に示すように圧着させるこ
とにより、前記歪み7は音極端面2により矯正さ
れるとともに、小突起3はプラスチツク部材4,
5の接合面6を貫通し、両者を完全に溶接させる
こととなる。この時に小突起3に相当する体積が
プラスチツク部材4,5の間に流入し、若干の〓
間を形成する。しかしこの〓間は、溶着条件を調
整することによりなくすることが可能である。こ
の溶接完了後、プラスチツク部材4,5に食い込
んでいる小突起3を抜き取るが、この抜取作業を
容易になすために、例えば被溶接物の上面を一定
の治具等により支持して行うか、音極1を発振さ
せたまま行うとよい。また、小突起3の形状を抜
取易い形状のものにすることも考えられる。

面が前記一方の部材の外表面に圧着する深さまで
超音波振動を付与しつつ前記接合面に対して垂直
方向に嵌入させることを特徴としているから、平
面板同士を確実に溶接でき、しかも、溶接後のプ
ラスチツク部材には小突起に相当する小孔群が形
成されるが、全体的な平面性は溶接前と全く異な
ることがなく、高精度、良品質の溶接物が得られ
る。従つて、血液、血清等の液体試料の化学分析
に使用する化学分析スライドのマウントとマウン
トカバーのように溶接後の製品に平面性が厳しく
要求される部材間の溶接に特に有効である。
