Abstract

と云う問題点があった。
この問題点を解決したのが、同一出願人に係る先願の特
開昭63−84506号公報及び、特開昭63−125
214号公報に開示された発明が周知である。これらの
先願の発明にあっては、袋状部材の内部に水と一緒に、
海綿状部材又は連続発泡体で形成されたマット状部材を
収納した構成であり、乗り降り又は寝返りを打った際に
、水の急激な流動を抑制して、ベツド自体の揺vJを押

提供するものであり、前記ビーズ状部材を内袋に収納し
てから密閉容器内に配設したので、水の移動はあっても
ビーズ状部材の移動はほとんどなく、それによってベツ
ドの一部の揚上があっても、ベツド形状が維持でき身体
の姿勢保持が可能になったのである。更に、密閉容器の
一部に導管を介して水タンクを連設したことによって、
ベツド内に充填しである水の量をその都度適宜に調整で
き、それによってもベツド形状の維持が可能になるので

に合成樹脂製又はセラミック製のビーズ状部材3と水4

に、前記ビーズ状部材3は予め内袋5に収納した状態で
前記密閉容器2内に納めるようにする。
即ち、第2図に示したように、内袋5は通水性を有する
織布又は網状部材で袋状に且つ前記密閉容器2と略同形
状に形成すると共に、収納したビーズ状部材3が大きく
移動しないように例えば格子状の1着部5aを形成する
ことによって複数室に区分し、各室に略均等に所定量の
ビーズ状部材3を収納しておく。この場合に、各室に収
納されるビーズ状部材3はギッシリと詰めることなく、
充分な余裕をもって収納するようにする。
このように予め内袋5にビーズ状部材3を収納してから
、内袋5を前記密閉容器2内に配設することで、ビーズ
状部材3の移動を抑制すると共に、密閉容器2の部分的
な膨らみを抑えるようにし、更に、内袋自体は水の流通
を許容し、ビーズ状部材の不用意な移動を阻止し、それ
によってウォーターベッド本体1の安定性を図っている
のである。
そして、前記密封容器2は可撓性シートで形成され、該
可撓性シートは例えばゴム又は軟質合成樹脂シート又は
これ等の材料と布との複合材料から構成されたものであ
り、全体形状として袋状に水密状態に形成されたもので
ある。
前記密閉容器2に収納されるビーズ状部材3と水4との
全体における容積比率は、ビーズ状部材50〜60%に
対して水40〜50%であって、好ましくは55:45
であり、ビーズ状部材が水よりも多い方が良い。又、ビ
ーズ状部材3は、例えばポリスチレン樹脂を発泡させて
ビーズ状に形成したもの又はガラスを中空ビーズに形成

ものを揃えても良いし、大小ミックスしたものでも使用
可能である。そして、前記密閉容器2に、例えば水だけ
を収納すると略120に9収納できるが、容積率で略4
5%であるため、その重量が略53Kgとなり、又、収
納されるビーズ状部材3は実測で3.3Kgであるから
、ウォーターベッド本体1の重量は略56.1gとなり
、著しく経世化されるのである。
前記密閉容器2には導管6及びバルブ7を介して水タン
ク8が連通状態で連設され、該水タンクによって密閉容
器2内の水の量を使用状態に対応してその都度調整でき
るようになっている。更に、前記密閉容器2には複数個
の注水用又はエア抜き弁9が取付けである。尚図中、符
号10はベツド台、11はギヤツチアップ台である。
このように構成されたウォーターベッド本体1はギャツ
チ機能を備えたベツド台10上に載置した状態で通常の
ベツドとして使用され、第4図に示したように、ベツド
上に横たわった時に、ベツド本体1が身体の起伏に沿っ
て万遍なく馴染んで変形し、身体とベツド本体との当接
部分において、部分的に荷重が集中しないようになると
共に、身体が当接している部分に簿い水の層4aが形成
されて、ビーズ独特のゴロゴロした感触′がほとんどな
くなるのである。
そして、この状態から、第5図に示したように、ギヤッ
チアップ機能を駆動して、ギャツチ台11を起立させる
ことによりウォーターベッド本体1の一部も起立させる
。この時に、内袋5に収納されているビーズ状部材3は
水4と一緒に流動することなく、水4のみが通水性の内
袋5を通して低い方に流動しビーズ状部材3は起立した
部分にそのまま残存するようになる。つまり、収納され
たビーズ状部材3は容積率で50%を越えており、各ビ
ーズ状部材間を前記水4が埋める状態になるので、各ビ
ーズ状部材間に存在する水がウォーターベッド本体1の
傾斜に伴って順次低い方に流下し、各ビーズ状部材3は
その移動が内袋で抑制されること及び水の流下に伴って
減圧状態になることで、隣接状態に固まった状態で位置
し、起立した一部のウォーターベッド本体1の厚みはほ
とんど変わることがないのである。この場合には、起立
した一部においては、身体との当接部分に水の層は形成
されないが、大きく荷重が係る部分には依然として水の
層が形成されていて、部分的な荷重の集中を防止してい
るのである。いずれにしても、ギヤッチアップ機能を駆
動してベツド本体の一部を起立させたにしても、ビーズ
状部材3は流下せず、ビーズ状部材の間隙に存在する水
のみが流下して、ビーズ状部材による形状保持がなされ
、簡単にギヤッチアップが行えるのである。
又、使用対応において、水の量を多くしたい場合には、
バルブ7を開けて水タンク8から密封容器2内に所定口
の水を注入し、反対に水の聞を少なくしたい場合には、
密封容器から水タンクに水を排出するようにして調整す
れば良く、その使用状態に則して、適切な状態でウォー

ツド形状が安定して維持でき身体の姿勢保持が可能にな
ると云う優れた効果を奏する。
又、密閉容器の一部に導管を介して水タンクを連設した
ことによって、ベツド内に充填しである水の聞をその都
度調整でき、それによって常に使用対応に則した適切な
状態で使用できると云う優れた効果も奏する。
更に、充填されるビーズ状部材と水とを、容量比におい
て、ビーズ状部材を多くしたことにより、ウォーターベ
ッド本体が著しく軽量化され、その取扱が容易になると
共に、ギヤツチアップによってもベツド形状の維持が可
