This inlet structure has a tendency to be generally adopted because the height of the air intake port is higher than before and there is no fear that water splashed up by the rear wheels will enter the air intake port. (Utility Model Publication No. 53-39768) c. Problems to be solved by the invention However, the following problems have been newly pointed out in the above-mentioned inlet structure. In other words, the lower part of the fuel tank located above the head pipe is formed into an almost inverted U shape to avoid the head pipe, so if water splashed up by the front wheels hits the lower part of the fuel tank, this splash will There is a risk that rising water may collect in the center of the bottom of the fuel tank and enter the air intake port of the head pipe.

The present invention was devised to effectively solve the above-mentioned problems, and its purpose is to prevent water from entering the air cleaner even under harsh driving conditions such as in shallow waters and on road surfaces with many puddles. The purpose is to provide an air cleaner inlet structure that does not require an air cleaner. In the inlet structure of an air cleaner for a vehicle traveling on rough terrain, an intake pipe is provided in the middle part of the head pipe that vertically penetrates the rear end of the fuel tank, and the tip of the seat is installed so as to cross over the rear end of the fuel tank. An inlet structure of an air cleaner for an all-terrain vehicle, characterized in that the suction pipe is opened in a space formed on the opposing surface between the front end of the seat and the rear end of the fuel tank. be.

d. Means for Solving the Problems An embodiment of the present invention will be described below based on the drawings. FIG. 1 shows the appearance of an off-road vehicle 1, in which reference numeral 2 denotes a straddle-type vehicle body;
3 is a pair of left and right front wheels, 4 is a pair of left and right rear wheels, 5 is a handle, and 6 is a seat. A steering shaft 7, to which the handle 5 is attached, is fixed to the front surface of a steering bracket 8, as shown in FIG. A front end portion of a head pipe 9 is fixed to the rear surface of the steering bracket 8, and a fuel tank 10 and a seat 6 are disposed in the front and back above the head pipe 9. Note that the rear end portion 10a of the fuel tank 10 has a seat 6 having a substantially U-shaped cross section as shown in FIGS. 2 to 4.
The front end portion 6a of the
The front end 6 of the seat 6 is located inside the front end 6a of the seat 6.
As shown in FIG. 4, a space 11 is formed on the opposing surface between the rear end portion 10a of the fuel tank 10 and the rear end portion 10a of the fuel tank 10.

The rear end of the head pipe 9 is connected to an air cleaner (not shown). On the other hand, a rear end portion 10 of the fuel tank 10 is located in the middle portion of the head pipe 9.
A suction pipe 12 passing through the center in the vertical direction is connected. A space 1 inside the front end 6a of the seat 6 is provided at the upper end of the suction pipe 12.
An air intake port 13 is provided which is open and facing the air intake port 1 .

e Function The air cleaner inlet is constructed as described above, and when the engine is started, outside air flows into the seat 6.
The air flows into the space 11 through the gap on the lower surface of the air, is sucked in through the air suction port 13 of the suction pipe 12, and is sucked into the air cleaner through the head pipe 9.
At this time, the air suction port 13 of the suction pipe 12 is open facing the space 11 inside the front end 6a of the seat 6, so that the front wheels can splash up water when driving in shallow water or on a road surface with many puddles. However, this splashed water is blocked by the fuel tank 10 and does not enter the space 11, so there is no risk of water entering the air intake port 13.

Although one embodiment of the present invention has been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment and can be modified in various ways. For example, in the above embodiment, a breathable member such as a sponge may be inserted into the space 11 inside the front end 6a of the sheet 6. In this case, it is possible to more reliably prevent water from entering the air intake port 13.

f. Effect of the invention According to the inlet structure of the air cleaner for an all-terrain vehicle of the invention, the leading end of the seat is arranged so as to span the rear end of the fuel tank, and the leading end of the seat and the fuel tank are connected to each other. Since the suction pipe was opened in the space formed on the surface facing the rear end,
Even if the front wheels splash water under harsh driving conditions such as in shallow water or on road surfaces with many puddles, this splashed water is blocked by the fuel tank and does not enter the space inside the front end of the seat. Therefore, it is possible to reliably prevent water from entering the air intake port. In addition, since we have installed a suction pipe in the middle of the head pipe that vertically passes through the rear end of the fuel tank, the area around the suction pipe is shielded by the rear end of the fuel tank, so we have to install a separate water shield plate. There is no need to provide one, and splashed water can be completely prevented from entering the suction pipe. Moreover, by assembling the suction pipe and the fuel tank to each other, it is possible to form a strong integral unit.
