[Detailed Description of the Invention] (Related Industrial Field) The present invention relates to an improvement of a rear or side monitoring device using fiber bundle cables so that blind spots at the rear or sides of a vehicle can be visually confirmed in the driver's cab.

(Prior art) As disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 54-176944, a conventional rear monitoring device has an optical imager installed at the rear of the vehicle and an image receiver installed in the driver's cab, and these are connected to fiber bundle cables. They were tied together to make the image visible.

Recently, as shown in FIG. 7, most vehicles having a structure in which a driver's cab (cab) a and a luggage compartment b are completely separated are of a structure (tilt cab) in which the driver's cab a is tilted forward. When a rear monitoring device having the above configuration is installed in a vehicle having such a structure, the cable c connecting the image pickup device and the image receiver must be provided with a considerable amount of leeway as shown in FIG. This requires an extra length of cable c, which is not only uneconomical but also reduces the resolution of the image receiver.

Furthermore, since the cable c has a movable part that can be expanded and contracted, it has the disadvantage that the cable c may break. In addition, with the technology disclosed in Utility Model Application No. 54-176944, the screen displayed on the image receiver is displayed with the left and right sides reversed, so it is difficult for the driver to visually check the rear of the vehicle. It was confusing and extremely dangerous.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) In a so-called tilt cab type vehicle in which the driver's cab can be tilted back and forth, a rear view mirror installed in the driver's cabin can be used to safely display the image projected from the image receptor of the rear monitoring device installed on the luggage compartment side. In addition, the purpose is to make it clearly visible.

(Means for solving the problem) In a freight vehicle in which the driver's cab and the luggage compartment are separated and the driver's cab can be tilted forward, it is possible to install an imager at an appropriate position in the vehicle outside the driver's cab, and at a position far from the driver's cab. Install the image receiver outside the driver's cab in a position close to the driver's cab. These imagers and image receivers are then connected with a fiber cable bundle. On the other hand, a back mirror for reflecting the image of the image receptor is installed at an appropriate position in the driver's cabin. Furthermore, on the line connecting the image receiver and the back mirror, a light-shielding hood that is waterproof and dustproof and can be separated into the front and back is provided between the rear wall of the driver's cabin and the front wall on the cargo compartment side to which the image receiver is fixed. This makes it possible to safely monitor the rear or sides of the vehicle.

(Example 1) Fig. 1 shows a freight vehicle equipped with the rear monitoring device of the present invention. 1 is the chassis and 2 is the driver's cab. 3 is a luggage compartment, which is placed on the upper part of the chassis 1. Reference numeral 4 denotes an imager of the rear monitoring device of the present invention, which is fixed at an appropriate position on the rear ceiling of the luggage compartment. Reference numeral 5 also designates an image receptor, which is fixed to the front wall 3' of the luggage compartment 3 at a position corresponding to a back mirror 7, which will be described later.
Reference numeral 6 denotes a fiber cable bundle (optical fiber) connecting the image pickup device 4 and the image receiver 5, and is arranged on the ceiling of the luggage compartment 3. Reference numeral 7 denotes a so-called back mirror that reflects the image projected by the image receptor 5.

The image is displayed on the image receptor 5. In this case, the image displayed on the image receptor 5 is displayed with the left and right sides reversed. The image projected by the image receptor 5 is then reflected and corrected by a back mirror 7 installed in the driver's cabin. Although not shown, the rear wall of the driver's cabin on the line connecting the image receptor 5 and the back mirror 7 is fitted with transparent glass.

Figures 2 and 3 show the image receptor 5 and the back mirror 7.
The detailed structure between the rear wall 2' of the driver's cab and the front wall 3' of the luggage compartment 3 to which the image receptor 5 is fixed is shown on a line connecting the two.

In FIG. 2, reference numeral 8 denotes a hood that is provided between the front wall 3' of the cargo compartment and the rear wall 2' of the driver's compartment and serves as a light-shielding, waterproof, and dust-proof hood. Reference numeral 8a denotes an extendable front hood made of synthetic rubber or the like and shaped into a bellows shape with a square cross section. One end of the front hood 8a is fixed to the rear wall 2' of the driver's cab, and the other end has an end surface 9 that slopes forward from top to bottom. 8b is the rear hood,
The rear hood 8b is a hood with a rectangular cross section containing the image receptor 5, and has one end fixed to the front wall 3' of the luggage compartment, and the other end has a similar slope corresponding to the sloped end surface 9 of the front hood 8a. It has a flange 10 (FIG. 4). Thus, when the driver's cab is in the normal position, the end faces 9 of the front hood 8a and the rear hood 8b are in close contact with the flange 10, and this portion maintains a sealed state.

FIG. 3 shows another example between the front wall 3' of the luggage compartment and the rear wall 2' of the driver's compartment. Reference numeral 11 designates a rectangular hood that encloses the image receptor 5 and has one end fixed to the front wall 3' of the luggage compartment 3.
The free end of the square hood 11 is connected to the rear wall 2' of the driver's cab 2.
The ring-shaped packing 12 is fixed to the rear wall 2'.

The hoods 8 and 11 configured as described above can be separated at the abutting surfaces of the front hood 8a and the rear hood 8b without requiring any human intervention when the driver's cab 2 is tilted forward. . It goes without saying that if the hoods 8, 11, the front wall 3' of the luggage compartment, etc. are painted black in order to avoid diffused reflection of light, the image displayed on the image receptor 5 will become clearer.

(Embodiment 2) FIG. 5 shows an application of the rear monitoring device of the present invention to prevent a tractor from getting caught in the side. In this case, the imager 4 is mounted on the chassis to the left of the driver's seat, and a support post 13 is installed on the rear chassis outside the driver's cabin, and a mounting plate 14 is attached to the support post 13 in a position where the back mirror 7 can be seen through. 5 is fixed (Fig. 6). The image pickup device 4 and the image receiver 5 are connected by a fiber cable bundle 6 so that the images are projected onto a rearview mirror 7 installed in the driver's cab 2. The mounting plate 14 is slightly larger than the image receptor 5, and the hood 8b or 11 as described in FIG. 2 or 3 is attached to this mounting plate.

(Effect) A back mirror is fixed to the driver's cab side, an imager and an image receiver are fixed to the cargo room side (or the chassis of the tractor and the mounting plate provided on the chassis), and a fiber is installed between the imager and the imager. The structure is such that the imager and receiver are separated from the driver's cab by connecting them with a cable bundle.
without worrying about the presence of fiber cable bundles.
The driver's cab can be tilted. Furthermore, since the fiber cable bundle is fixed, there is no possibility of the fiber cable bundle having broken lines. It is also economical because the expensive fiber cable bundle can be shortened. Furthermore, since the left-right reversed image projected by the image receptor is corrected and projected by the rear view mirror, it is safe and does not confuse the driver.

Furthermore, since the space between the wall or mounting plate to which the image receptor is fixed and the rear wall of the driver's cab is covered with a hood that can be sealed and divided, regardless of the tilting movement of the driver's cab, the image projected on the rear view mirror becomes clearer. can be photographed.
