Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the gas permeability of a heel portion core and make it hard for deformation to occur by heating the heel portion core which is formed with felt composed of specific mixed raw materials to a specific temperature in a heating environment and then, pressurizing and cooling same by means of a cooling mold. CONSTITUTION:A felt type body 1 composed of the mixed raw materials of a low melting point synthetic fiber and a high melting point synthetic fiber is cut to a required shape and the top of the front half portion thereof is scraped off into a forwardly lowering inclination to form a heel portion core material 2. Immediately after heating the heel portion core material 2 to a temperature in the vicinity of the melting point of the low melting point synthetic fiber in a heating environment 3, the heel portion core material 2 is pressurized and cooled by means of a cooling mold 6 consisting of a top force 4 and a bottom force 5 and formed into a shape having a recessed top face 7 which is fitted to the bottom face of a heel portion, to complete a heel portion core 8. The obtained heel portion core 8 made of felt has a preeminent gas permeability, while having a very good moldability without causing deformation since it is pressurized and cooled while the heel portion core material is still in a heated condition by means of the cooling mold.

The manufacturing method of the heel core described in the above-mentioned conventional technology requires a foaming mold, which results in high costs. Also, the heel core obtained by this method is made of open cell foam, so it has excellent cushioning properties and is comfortable. However, it had the drawback of extremely poor ventilation.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a heel core material made of felt made of a mixed raw material of low melting point synthetic fibers and high melting point synthetic fibers to a temperature near the melting point of the low melting point synthetic fibers in a heated environment. After heating, the heel core material is pressurized and cooled while it is still in the heated state, and is molded into a shape with a concave upper surface that fits the lower surface of the heel.

In the present invention, a heel core material made of felt made of a mixed raw material of low melting point synthetic fibers and high melting point synthetic fibers is heated in a heating environment to a temperature near the melting point of the low melting point synthetic fibers. It is characterized in that while it is in a heated state, it is pressurized and cooled by a cooling mold and molded into a shape with a concave upper surface that fits the underside of the heel, so it can be molded without using a foaming mold. Of course, it is extremely effective in manufacturing heel core materials, but in particular, the heel core material obtained by the present invention is made of felt and has excellent air permeability. Since the cooling mold is used to pressurize and cool the product, it has the advantage of being able to reliably produce a product that has excellent moldability and is resistant to deformation.
