As a configuration for this purpose, the present invention provides an electrode on the horizontal part of a liquid crystal cell whose edge is formed into a stepped shape consisting of a horizontal part and a vertical part, and brings this electrode into contact with one end of a flexible tape connector. The other end of the connector is led out from the bottom surface of the liquid crystal cell so as to surround the edge, and a spring member having a U-shaped cross section is fitted onto the edge from above the tape connector to hold the tape connector above the liquid crystal cell. In the device, one leg of the spring member is brought into contact with a vertical portion of the stepped edge, and a predetermined gap is formed between the connecting portion connecting both legs and the edge of the liquid crystal cell. It is characterized by the formation of

The liquid crystal cell 1 has a step-like edge, and has horizontal parts 1a and vertical parts 1b on the upper and lower surfaces. There is. An electrode is formed on the upper horizontal part 1a, and the conductor 5b of one end 5a of the tape connector 5 is in contact with the electrode 2, and the tape connector 5 is bent into a U-shape to connect the liquid crystal cell 1. It is guided downward from the horizontal portion 1a of the lower surface so as to surround the edge, and is connected to a printed circuit board placed below the liquid crystal cell 1 (not shown). A spring member 6 having a U-shaped cross section is fitted onto the edge of the tape connector 5 which is bent into a U-shape. As shown in FIG. 2, this spring member 6 has a plurality of slits 6d formed in both leg portions 6a, 6b, and a plurality of leg portions 6a, 6d divided by the slits 6d.
6b evenly contacts the plurality of electrodes 2 arranged in the same manner on the liquid crystal cell 1 and the plurality of terminal portions 4 of the tape connector 5 with an appropriate pressing force, and also contacts the horizontal portion 1a side of the upper surface where the electrodes 2 are provided. The length of the leg 6a of
The length of the leg portion 6b on the horizontal portion 1a side of the lower surface is slightly longer, and the tips of both the leg portions 6a, 6b are curved to open outward, and the leg portions 6a, 6b and the connecting portion 6c are formed in a curved shape. The bent portion is formed as an outwardly bulging portion.

A gap 7 is formed between the bent portions of the legs 6a, 6b of the spring member 6 and the connecting portion 6c, and between the tip of the edge of the liquid crystal cell 1 and the connecting portion 6c. It is not pressed against the edge of the glass of the liquid crystal cell 1. In addition, in the horizontal portion 1a of the lower surface of the edge, there is a gap 8 between the tip of the leg portion 6b of the spring member 6 and the vertical portion 1b of the edge of the liquid crystal cell 1.
is formed, and the tape connector 5 is passed through this gap.
is led out downward and the tape connector 5
Since the curved portion at the tip of the leg portion 6b comes into contact with the lead-out portion, the tape connector 5 will not be damaged at this point.
