Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce running cost by a method wherein the air in a room is discharged through a draft shaft by a drafting force due to a temperature difference between indoor and the atmosphere, which is generated in the draft shaft, and an excessive pressure generated by the fan of an air-conditioning macine. CONSTITUTION:Air, heated in the room 3, enters into the draft shaft 2 through the suction port 8 of the draft 2. The air, to be drafted, is discharged from a drafting port 9, provided at the upper part of the draft shaft 2, through the chimney-like draft shaft having small ventilating resistance, by the drafting force due to the temperature difference between the indoor 3 and the atmosphere 4 and the excessive pressure upon ventilating air by the fan 10. At his time, a damper D1, provided in the draft shaft 2, is fully opened and the damper D2, provided in a ventilating duct 12, is closed, thereby discharging the whole amount of air discharged from the room 2.

In all-air heating and cooling systems that blow hot or cold air into each room, the air is normally blown at a temperature of about 16°C during cooling. Therefore, around spring or autumn, the outside air is 16℃.
If the temperature drops below that level, the air conditioner takes in the entire amount of air from the air conditioner and exhausts the return air from each room using the exhaust machine to perform outside air cooling without having to operate the refrigerator. The disadvantage of this type is that it requires an exhaust fan or a return air fan, which increases the running cost of the power needed to operate the fan.

An exhaust shaft 2 is provided in the building 1, and the exhaust shaft 2 causes the air inside the room 3 to be moved by the draft force due to the temperature difference between the indoor air 3 and the outside air 4 generated on the exhaust shaft 2 during outdoor air cooling, and the excess pressure caused by the blower 10 of the air conditioner 5. This is an outside air cooling device that uses natural exhaust to exhaust air.

It consists of an air conditioner 5 installed on the roof of a building 1 and an exhaust shaft 2 installed in the shape of a chimney. An outside air intake duct 13 equipped with a damper D3 is connected to this air conditioner 5, and the flow of air inside the air conditioner 5 is controlled when passing through the cooler 6 and when passing through the damper D3.
The air blower 10 sends air to the air supply duct 7, and the air is controlled to a predetermined temperature and humidity. This air supply duct 7 is branched to each floor along the way and connected to air outlets 11 provided at necessary locations. Further, the exhaust shaft 2 extends to the top of the rooftop in a chimney shape to reduce ventilation resistance, and each floor is provided with an exhaust inlet 8, and the rooftop is provided with an exhaust outlet 9. A return air duct 12 communicating with the air conditioner 5 is provided at the lower part of the air conditioner 1, and this return air duct 12 is also provided with a damper D2.

The flow of air during outside air cooling in the outside air cooling system using natural exhaust of this invention is achieved by fully opening the damper D3 provided in the outside air intake duct 13 and the damper D4 in the air conditioner 5 to fully open the outside air that has dropped to 16 degrees Celsius or below. It is taken in without passing through the cooler 6. This outside air is sent to the room 3 from the air outlet 11 on each floor through the air supply duct 7 by the blower 10. The warm air in the room 3 enters into the exhaust shaft 2 through the suction port 8 of the exhaust shaft 2. The air to be exhausted flows through a chimney-shaped exhaust shaft 2 with low ventilation resistance, and is provided at the top of the exhaust shaft 2 by draft force due to the temperature difference between indoor air 3 and outside air 4 and by excess pressure when the blower 10 sends out air. It is discharged to the outside from the discharge port 9. At this time, the damper D1 provided in the exhaust shaft 2 is fully opened, and the damper D2 provided in the return air duct 12 is closed, so that the entire amount of air exhausted from the room 3 is exhausted.

In this way, during outside air cooling, the entire amount of outside air that has dropped to 16 degrees Celsius or lower is always taken in, and all the exhaust air is exhausted using the draft force in the exhaust shaft 2 and the excess pressure when the blower 10 detects air to perform outside air cooling. This eliminates the need for an exhaust fan or return air fan, reduces conveying power, and allows cooling to be performed with energy-saving effects and low running costs.

By the way, during general cooling, the minimum necessary outside air is taken in, and damper D3 of outside air intake duct 13 is set to 30%.
The damper D4 in the open air conditioner 5 is closed and the air is sent through the cooler 6 to each floor by the blower 10, and the damper D1 in the exhaust shaft 2 is opened by 30% to exhaust 30% of the air.
By opening the damper D2 of the return air duct 12 by 70%, 70% of the air can be returned to the air conditioner 5 for cooling.
