<Prior Art> The method for manufacturing the diaphragm described above is the method proposed by the applicant of the present application in Japanese Patent Application No. 173816/1982, and specifically, the diaphragm is manufactured using equipment as shown in FIG. Here, as shown in FIG. 2, a diaphragm 3 having a rubber layer 2 on both sides of a base fabric 1 is taken as an example, but the same applies to a case where a rubber layer is provided only on one side.

First and second take-up rolls 8 and 9 are respectively arranged at the sheet delivery portion of each device so that the cloth-filled sheet 5 having a width corresponding to the diameter of the diaphragm can be sent one by one to the press vulcanization device 6 and the cut-off device 7. At the same time, a feed-out roll 11 and a liner wind-up roll 12 are disposed at the loading site of the press vulcanization device 6.

In this manufacturing method, if there is a defective part of the base fabric in the cloth-filled sheet 5, it is important to detect the defective part and stop the cut-off process to prevent the production of defective products from the viewpoint of productivity and prevention of defective products. desirable.

In this way, in cases where it is difficult to remove defective parts of a nonmetallic continuous base material from a productivity standpoint, and in addition, the continuous base material is coated in a subsequent process, making it impossible to visually detect the defective parts, conventional methods The common method was to attach a metal foil to the defective area of a continuous base material, and after coating, detect the defective area with a metal detector.

<Means for Solving the Problems> The method of detecting a defective part of the base fabric in manufacturing a diaphragm of the present invention includes forming in advance a mark that can be visually determined after forming a rubber layer on the side of the defective part of the base fabric. After forming the rubber layer, a woven fabric to be detected having a different color from the rubber layer is attached to the surface of the rubber layer, and a defective portion of the fabric-filled sheet and/or the base fabric of the diaphragm is detected based on the presence or absence of the woven fabric to be detected. By doing this, the above problems are solved.

(a) Since the member to be detected is a woven fabric, it can be attached to the surface of the rubber layer without using adhesive, and there is no risk of the adhesive leaking out and staining the press mold surface during press vulcanization. .

(b) Even if the detector malfunctions, the rubber layer and the different-colored woven fabric remain on the surface of the manufactured diaphragm, so diaphragms with defective base fabric can be easily detected by visual inspection, and non-defective diaphragms can be identified. There is no risk of the product being shipped with defective products mixed in, and the woven fabric to be detected is soft and there is no risk of damaging the cutting blade.

(c) It is sufficient if the detector can distinguish by color;
It is cheaper in cost than other metal detectors.

(1) First, in the fabric-filled sheet manufacturing process, defects (weaving defects and coating defects) in the tape-shaped base fabric (usually width corresponding to the diameter of the diaphragm) 1, which has been treated with adhesive if necessary, are visually detected. As shown in FIG. 3, a mark 4 is marked on the side of the defective area with adhesive tape, thread, etc. If the width of the tape-like base fabric 1 is larger than the width of the rubber layer, it may be marked with colored paint.

(2) Next, rubber is extruded and pasted on both sides of the base fabric 1 using a fabric sheet manufacturing apparatus to form rubber layers 2, 2. At this time, if the mark 4 is present, the rubber layer 2 is placed on the belt 18 or on the surface of the rubber layer 2 (usually on one side, but may be on both sides) as shown in FIG. A woven fabric 10 for detection (regardless of synthetic fiber or natural fiber) of a different color (preferably white) than 2 is attached. Since this member to be detected is a woven fabric, it can be easily attached to the surface of the rubber layer 2 without using an adhesive. In the illustrated example, the adhesion length spans the entire width of the fabric-filled sheet, but half the width is sufficient (the length that allows the woven fabric to remain on the diaphragm after cutting). Normally, it is desirable to remove the mark 4 at the same time as this pasting.

(3) The cloth-containing sheet 5 with the woven fabric 10 to be detected attached to the defective portion of the base fabric is fed out from the roll 1
The molds 6a and 6b of the press vulcanizer are continuously and sequentially removed from the molds 6a and 6b by the first and second take-up rolls 8 and 9.
The diaphragm 3 is manufactured by inserting the diaphragm between the cutting blade 7a and the pedestal 7b of the cutting-off device, and performing press vulcanization and cutting-off, respectively.
At this time, a color-based determination sensor 18 is disposed on the loading side of the cut-off device 7, and the detection signal of this color-based determination sensor 18 is input to the air cylinder 7c drive source and the second take-up roll 9 drive source of the cut-off device. I'm starting to do that.

Therefore, if there is a woven fabric 10 to be detected on the upper surface of the fabric-filled sheet 5, the detection signal from the color-specific determination sensor 18 is input to the air cylinder drive source and the take-up roll drive source, and cutting is stopped. , the cloth-filled sheet 5 is conveyed two pitches. In this way, the occurrence of defective diaphragms can be prevented. Even if the color discrimination sensor malfunctions and cutting is performed, the cutting blade will not be damaged because the detected member is made of soft woven fabric. In addition, a diaphragm with a defective base fabric mixed in a good product can be easily detected by visual inspection because the woven fabric to be detected remains, and the diaphragm is not shipped while being mixed in a good product.
