重に巻回して形成されるメタルハニカム担体を、
金属製の外筒内に嵌挿してなる排気ガス浄化用カ
ートリツジにおいて、少なくとも前記メタルハニ
カム担体の一方の端面と外筒の一方の端面とを同
一平面上に位置させるとともに、この端面におい
て前記波板と平板および前記メタルハニカム担体
外周と前記外周とをレーザビームにより溶着した
ことを特徴とする排気ガス浄化用カートリツジ。 (2) 外筒のメタルハニカム担体外周との溶着部
には、薄肉部が形成されていることを特徴とする
