Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately operate a parking lot by informing a driver of the number of an idle parking section other than sections, which cannot be used temporarily, by a radio at the time of discriminating this parking section as the result of the signal processing of a signal processing means. CONSTITUTION:Parking conditions of respective parking lots are always monitored by a signal processing means 7 based on signals from sensors S1 to Sn provided in respective parking lots; and when there is an idle section other than sections which cannot be used temporarily, the output to convert the number of this section to a voice is generated from a voice synthesizing and output device 6 and is given to a speaker 4 through an amplifier 5. The output of this speaker 4 is transmitted through a transmitter 10 and a transmission antenna 11, and a radio 13 in the driver's car is operated by an antenna 12 which receives this output. Consequently, it is sufficient if the driver moves his car to the parking section whose number is heard from the radio 13. When the section becomes unusable, a keyboard 9 is operated to exclude this section.

A sensor is installed in each parking lot to detect whether or not a car is parked, and an audio output device (the main component is a speaker) is installed at a predetermined position in the parking lot, as well as a transmitter and a transmitting antenna that transmit audio output. The number of a section that is temporarily unavailable (used for construction, temporary storage of goods, etc.) entered using the signal from the sensor and the keyboard is placed adjacent to the audio output device or at an appropriate location away from the audio output device. The parking status of each parking lot is constantly monitored using the provided signal processing means, and the numbers of vacant parking spaces are notified to the driver via radio, excluding those that are temporarily unavailable.
