Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the installation of a position detection element by fixedly installing a permanent magnet onto a piston and fixedly installing a guide member onto the outer periphery of a cylinder tube and fixing the position detection element having a magnetic sensor built in, onto the guide member. CONSTITUTION:A permanent magnet 5 is installed onto a piston 3, and a guide member 16 which is made of nonmagnetic material and has a guide groove 17 inside is fitted onto the outer periphery of a cylinder tube 2, and two position detection elements 10 having a magnetic sensor built in are fixed onto the guide member 16. Therefore, the position detection element 20 can be firmly fixed onto the cylinder tube 2, without applying a large force onto the position detection element 20 itself, and the fixed position can be adjusted easily. Further, the thermal transmission from the cylinder tube 2 to the position detection element 20 can be suppressed, and the deterioration of the detection precision due to temperature can be avoided.
