Abstract

PURPOSE:To optionally set the projecting position of a rotary grindstone for a frame and to execute honing of the knife edge of an industrial cutting tool safely and surely by providing in plural pieces a rotary grindstone freely movably at one part of a pair of frames whose meeting angle is made freely adjustable within the range of about 120 deg. mutually. CONSTITUTION:A pair of frames 1, 16 are turned according to the thickness and angle of a knife edge in the industrial cutting tool to be subjected to honing to adjust the meeting angle thereof. The rotary grindstones (11a-11c), (23a, 23b) provided on each frame 1, 16 are advanced and retreated in the respective meeting direction to adjust the projecting position thereof. After abutting the knife edge of the industrial cutting tool to the rotary grindstones (11a-11c), (23a, 23b) in this state, the whole body of the frames 1, 16 is slided by reciprocating along the length direction of the cutting tool. This knife edge is subjected to honing with rotating the rotary grindstones (11a-11c), (23a, 23b) according to the reciprocating slide of this frame.

On the other hand, the recently developed blade honing device disclosed in JP-A-61-103765 was developed as a honing device for a cutting blade with a short cutting edge called a "chip," and is not only suitable for boat fishing. However, the structure is complicated, and it is not practical because it is completely unsuitable for polishing a long cutting edge as planned in the present application.

(Function) A pair of frames whose facing angles can be adjusted are adjusted according to the thickness and angle of the cutting edge of the blade to be honed, and the rotating whetstones are moved forward and backward in the respective facing directions. After the position is adjusted, the entire frame is repeatedly slid back and forth along the length of the cutter while the cutting edge is brought into contact with the rotating grindstone of at least one side of the frame. At this time, each rotating grindstone rotates as the frame moves and polishes the cutting edge.

The end plate 20 is formed into an arcuate shape, and its inner circumferential diameter is equal to the outer diameter of the flange 7 of the end plate 6 in the frame 1, and its outer circumferential edge is equal to the inner diameter of the flange 8 of the end plate 6 in the frame l. As a result, the outward convex portion 19 of the end plate 20 is loosely fitted into the inner groove 9 of the end plate 6 in the frame l, so that the pair of frames 1 and 16 are at least within a range of about 120 degrees from each other. The facing angle can be adjusted freely.

However, in the above configuration, the adjustment screws 13a, 13b

23b to each frame 1 and 16, and further loosen the fixing screw 22 to remove the frame 1.
After adjusting the mutual facing angle between the frame 16 and the frame 16, turn the fixing screw 22 gold clockwise again to fix the angle between them, and remove the rotating grindstones 1) a, llb, IIC and 23a, 23.
b is brought into contact with the cutting edge of the cutter to be honed and the sliding reciprocating motion is repeated to perform honing work on the cutting edge. In this case, the guide rollers 14a, 14b on one side,
or 26, by rotating the adjustment screws 13a, 13b, 13C1 or 25a, 25b counterclockwise to move the rotary grindstone back toward the frame, the guide roller in that area will protrude. Then, perform the honing operation while bringing this into contact with the side of the cutlery.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, the present invention is a pair of frames whose facing angles can be freely adjusted within a range of approximately 120 degrees, and a rotating grindstone is provided on at least one of the frames, so that the angle of the cutting edge can be freely adjusted. Moreover, since the rotary whetstone rotates during honing work, there is no uneven wear, and since the rotary whetstone can move forward and backward, the protrusion position relative to the frame can be set arbitrarily, making it safe and risk-free during honing. Moreover, the cutting edge can be reliably and accurately honed without requiring any skill.
