Abstract

PURPOSE:To sufficiently supply lubricating oil to a thrust receiving part and improve performance of lubrication and cooling by providing an oil jetting hole which communicates with a lubricating oil passage inside a cam shaft and opens in the bottom of an annular groove formed on one end part of the cam shaft. CONSTITUTION:An annular groove 12 is formed on one end part projecting from the cylinder head side of a cam shaft 2 which is rotatably supported by means of a cylinder head 1. An oil jetting hole 17, communicating with a lubricating oil passage inside the cam shaft 2, is opened in the bottom of the annular groove 12. A thrust receiving part 19, fitted to the annular groove, is formed on an oil seal retainer 9 fixed to the cylinder head side. An oil reservoir part 21 is provided in the thrust receiving part 19. Thus, lubricating oil can be sufficiently supplied to the thrust receiving part, and performance of lubrication and cooling can be improved.

にまき込まれた潤滑油が滞留することなく、すぐ
に摺動面外へ流出してしまい、その結果、スラス
ト受部の潤滑油が不足して潤滑不良を起こし、ス
ラスト受部が摩耗しやすかつた。

ナに前記環状溝下半部に嵌合するスラスト受部を
形成し、該スラスト受部の摺動面に油溜り部を備
えることにより、スラスト受部に対して強制給油
を行ない、かつ供給された潤滑油がスラスト受部
に保持されるようにしたものである。前記油溜り
部は、スラスト受部の円周方向端部に設けたテー
パ面とスラスト受部の摺動面の途中に設けた油溝
の少なくとも一方で構成することができる。

ラスト受部の摺動面の摩耗を防止することができ
る。しかも、オイルシールリテーナにスラスト受
部を設け、かつ、カムシヤフト自体の内部に形成
した潤滑油通路を介して潤滑油を供給する構成で
あるので、潤滑・冷却性能の良いスラスト受構造
を、部品点数をふやさずに容易に実現できるとい
う効果がある。
