Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain hot stamping rich in decorative properties by reproducing the original color as faithful as possible by performing the color separation and halftone photography of a color manuscript to form not only separated halftone negative films but also a plurality of stamping letterpresses and subjecting these letterpresses to progressive stamping in order from much printing quantity. CONSTITUTION:A manuscript 1 is subjected to color separation due to a photographic color separation method or an electronic color separation method by a color scanner and halftone photography to obtain respective separated halftone positive films 2-5 of yellow, magenta, cyan and black. Then, a yellow letterpress 7, a magenta letterpress 8, a cyan letterpress 9, a black letterpress 10 and a solid letterpress 11 are prepared on the basis of five negative films consisting of four separated halftone negative films and the negative film for a solid plate added thereto. The formation of three letterpresses of the cyan letterpress 9, the black letterpress 10 and the solid letterpress 11 is prepared on the basis of the negative film 6 for the solid plate and the solid letterpress 11 is used as a base among those three letterpresses and the other letterpresses are used in order from much printing quantity to superpose different color foils one upon another and progressive stamping is performed to obtain a gorgeous finished hot stamping reproduction 12.

(Problems to be solved by advanced technology and inventiveness) The metallic luster of foil stamping gives a high-class impression that cannot be achieved with other printing methods, so it is used in the design of various products, including labels and packages. However, Jubei's foil stamping is a single-color printing process, so if the target is an image, it becomes an abstract expression, which lacks reality and is insufficient in terms of decoration. (Means for Solving the Problems) In order to achieve the above object, a multicolor foil stamping method according to the present invention has the following configuration. That is, a color document representing an image or the like is subjected to color separation, halftone shooting, etc. to create a separated halftone negative film. Then, a plurality of letterpress plates for foil stamping are created based on all or a part of the negative film obtained by adding a negative film for solid printing to this decomposed mesh negative film.

That is, as for the highlighted portion, since there are naturally fewer halftone dots in each of the separated mesh bombs 2 to 5, the color is lost only in that portion, and the ground color of the printing surface (transferring surface) appears as is. In order to avoid such a situation, a negative film 6 for solid printing is created, which covers the entire printing surface (transferring surface) with a predetermined base color.

For example, there is a corrosion plate making method in which a plate material such as a zinc plate, copper plate, magnesium plate, etc. is coated with a photosensitive resin and the plate is made by exposing it to light and baking it. However, it is not necessary to apply letterpress printing to all five negative films, and some of the negative films may be provided with letterpress printing. Also, out of the five negative films, we do not create negative films that are clearly not going to be used, but create only the necessary part of the negative film, and then create letterpress based on that. It's okay.

In the embodiment, a cyan letterpress 9 and a black letterpress are created based on a cyan net negative and a black net negative, which are the inversions of the cyan dot 4 and the ink dot 5, and the solid printing plate ff6. Three versions were prepared: 10 and 11 for solid letterpress. Then, only these three versions were used as letterpress for foil stamping,
Separate colors were stamped so that foils of different colors were overlapped. The stamping method may be flat pressure type or linear pressure type.

The reason for excluding the yellow and magenta versions is as follows. That is, in each of the halftone 7 films 2 to 5 in which the spiny lobster of the manuscript 1 was subjected to halftone dot resolution, the halftone dot density was higher in the order of black, cyan, magenta, and yellow, that is, the amount of printing was large. Therefore, if the yellow printing plate, which has the largest amount of printing, is used, most of the base color foil stamped with the solid letterpress plate 11 will be hidden, and the meaning of the solid printing will be halved. By the way, in the actual example carried out, gold foil was selected as the base color foil. Additionally, since the magenta version had the second largest amount of printing, stamping with red foil on this version had the disadvantage that the redness was too strong. Therefore, a red foil was stamped on the base color using cyan letterpress 9. On top of these, a black foil was stamped in an overlapping manner using ink letterpress 10, which has the smallest amount of printing, to reproduce the foil-stamped restoration 12 that reproduces the Ise lobster, which is the image of manuscript 1, with good color balance.
I got it. In this way, even if only some of the five editions are used, a highly complete restored product can be obtained, and the cost is low.

However, even if all five editions or only some of the editions are used, it is necessary to stamp the foil by using the editions with the largest amount of printing, regardless of the number of editions. In other words, in the overlapping of foils, unlike in general color printing, there is no mixing of colors, but only the upper color covers the lower color.
Therefore, if a plate with a large amount of printing is used later, the color of the foil stamped earlier will disappear, resulting in a problem that the color balance will be disrupted.

Note that if you want to use only some of the 5 plates instead of all 5 plates, you can fill out the unnecessary separation net positive film and invert the negative to obtain negative film 6 for the solid plate.
There is no need to go to the trouble of tracing down the original 16 (Effects of the invention) As is clear from the detailed description above, the multicolor foil stamping method according to the present invention can produce images that could only be expressed in a single color with conventional foil stamping. Others can be expressed in multiple colors. Therefore, according to this method, it is also possible to reproduce the colors of six originals of the original as close as possible. Moreover, since it is colored with metallic luster, it is possible to obtain luxurious printing expressions that are perfect in terms of both reality and decoration. It also has the effect of being able to express color on printing media that are inconvenient for color printing, such as paper and synthetic resin, which have dense colors.
