本発明は、主として医療目的のための水基材殺菌ゲルに
関する.
[従来の技術と課題]
ゲルおよび軟膏は、滑剤として医療目的のため、また、
医療用有効物質や池の種々の目的のビヒクルとして広く
使用されている.この種の製品は、必ず殺菌する必要が
ある.殺菌特性は、例えばオートクレープによる蒸気加
熱を介して与えられる.また、他面、パッケージゲルが
存在し、通常は安息香酸、パラベンゼン、パラクロリッ
ク・メタクレセートのような保存剤と組合せられる.し
かしながら、保存剤の使用は、この種の薬剤は活性物質
に影響を与えると共に感受性の人ではアレルギを誘発し
得るため、しばしば不適切である.
プラスチックからなる最近のパッケージの多くは、オー
トクレープにより一般に行われる加熱に露呈される際に
劣化する.この理由により、また、前記したように保存
剤を使用する否定的な面により、イオン化放射によって
殺菌を行うことが示唆されている.しかしながら、不運
なことに、ガム・アラビック、トラガカンス・カルボマ
、カルボキシメチレン・セルロース並びに他のゲル試薬
を基礎とし水を基材とするゲルは、イオン化放射に露呈
されるとそのゲル構造を喪失し、低粘度の水溶液を形成
する.
[課題を解決するための手段]
しかしながら、カルボマ(カルボキシメチレン)は、エ
チレングリコール、グリセリン、プロピレングリコール
のような多価アルコールの補助により殺菌を行うことが
でき、これにより、例えばコバルト60に由来するガン
マ放射に露呈して殺菌を行う際に、ゲルの劣化が回避さ
れる.
本発明によれば、主として医療目的のための水基材殺菌
ゲルであって、カルボキシボリメチレンボリマ(カルボ
マ)を含有すると共に安定化剤として多価アルコールを
含有し、イオン化放射によって殺菌されることを特徴と
