Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a plastic molding material of natural stone pattern providing a feeling of natural stone appearance, moldable into any shape by blending and kneading a thermosetting resin with mica and aluminum hydroxide and making the blend into a bulky semisolid material. CONSTITUTION:About 20 to 62wt.% thermosetting resin is blended and kneaded with about 8 to 20wt.% mica and about 30 to 60wt.% aluminum hydroxide to give a bulky semisolid material in B state. A plastic molding material thus obtained is press molded or injection molded to give a molded article of arbitrary shape having a natural stone pattern without damaging molds. Further a developed pattern can be clarified by using an unsaturated polyester resin or acrylic resin as the thermosetting resin or a pattern can be varied by using colored mica and strength of molded article can be improved by blending the molding resin with a reinforcing material.

(Conventional technology) Natural stones such as granite have a glossy appearance when polished, and have unique surface patterns and a sense of weight, giving them a luxurious feel, and have been used for architecture and tombstones since ancient times. Widely used. And since this granite is also difficult to obtain and expensive these days, there are also artificial stones made by mixing cement with fine granite powder as a seed stone and hardening it, and polishing it, although it cannot compete with natural granite. It's on the market.

(Problem to be Solved by the Invention) However, the natural stone pattern printed board material in (a) above simply prints the pattern on the surface of the natural stone instead of printing the pattern on the conventional wallpaper, so it cannot be used on a flat surface. However, it was far from the texture and weight unique to natural stone, and it was not possible to mold products into various shapes like plastic molding.

In addition, since the natural stone pattern plastic product (b) has a synthetic resin base, it can be molded into any shape with a mold, but it is difficult to spread stone powder evenly on its surface. If the density varies and the resin is dispersed, the bare surface of the resin may be visible.Furthermore, during pressing, the inside of the mold was easily scratched by stone dust, which could ruin the mold.

Furthermore, since the natural stone pattern plastic product (C) has a synthetic resin base, it can be molded into various shapes like the one in (b), but it is still susceptible to scratches caused by stone powder inside the mold during pressing. In addition, if the amount of stone powder added to the synthetic resin is too small, the weight and texture of natural stone will be poor, and on the other hand, if the amount of stone powder added to the synthetic resin is too large, the fluidity will deteriorate and the moldability will deteriorate. The problem was that it was getting worse.

The present invention was invented in view of the above-mentioned problems, and not only can it provide a texture and weight that closely resembles the surface pattern of natural stone, but it can also be press-molded in the same way as general plastic molding. To provide a natural stone-patterned plastic molding material that can be applied regardless of whether it is injection molding or injection molding, and which is free from scratches caused by stone powder inside the mold during molding.

(Function) Therefore, if the natural stone pattern plastic molding material according to the invention of claim 1 is press-molded in a predetermined mold, since it is a bulk semisolid in the B state, it will immediately change to the insoluble and infusible state in the C state. In addition, mica is heat resistant and resistant to compression, and is not altered or destroyed by press molding, so the mica shape is maintained as it is in the molded product, and aluminum hydroxide is compounded. However, the thermosetting resin does not become cloudy, and the mica appears irregularly and transparently on the surface of the molded product as a mineral pattern peculiar to natural stone, giving a feeling very similar to a natural stone pattern. In the invention of claim 2, when unsaturated polyester resin or acrylic resin is used as the thermosetting resin, since these resins have extremely good transparency, the pattern of the natural stone-like pattern made of mica becomes even clearer. appears on the surface of the molded product. Furthermore, when mica is colored as in the invention of claim 3, the colored state of the mica is directly reflected on the surface of the molded product, so a wide variety of patterns can be created. become. Furthermore, when the reinforcing material is blended into the thermosetting resin as in the fourth aspect of the invention, the resulting molded product becomes a reinforced plastic, so that the strength of the molded product can be improved.

The basic composition of the raw materials used for the natural stone pattern plastic molding material according to the present invention is (a) mica (8 to 20 weight%), (b) aluminum hydroxide (30 to 60 weight%), and (C
) Thermosetting resin (20-62% by weight). By the way, if the mica content is less than 8% by weight, a pattern that closely resembles the natural stone pattern, which is unique to mica, will not appear on the surface of the molded product, and if it is more than 20% by weight, the pattern will be more than natural stone pattern. The mineral pattern of mica appears on the surface, giving an unnatural feel, and the surface condition of the molded product tends to become rough. Therefore, the content is desirably about 12% by weight. Also,
If aluminum hydroxide is less than 30% by weight, the transparency of the molded product tends to decrease and the appearance of the mica mineral pattern on the surface of the molded product tends to be hidden, which is undesirable. Since moldability tends to deteriorate, the content is preferably around 50% by weight. Furthermore, if the thermosetting resin is less than 20% by weight, moldability will deteriorate, and if it is more than 62% by weight, it will inevitably affect the blending amount of mica and aluminum hydroxide, resulting in insufficient addition of mica and hydration. There is a tendency for the addition of aluminum to be insufficient, resulting in negative effects caused by the addition of aluminum, and the preferable amount is approximately 30% by weight.

The total amount of these basic formulations is 100% by weight, and each raw material can be freely combined within the formulation range, and natural stone patterns with slightly different surface pattern patterns or physical properties can be created depending on the mixing ratio. A plastic molding material will be obtained.

Furthermore, by adding (d) reinforcing material (0 to 14% by weight) as an auxiliary raw material to the above basic formulation, it is possible to improve the strength of the physical properties of the natural stone pattern plastic molding material. If this reinforcing material is not added (0% by weight), the physical strength of the molded product will be extremely weak, and 14% by weight.
If it is more than that, the reinforcing material tends to stand out on the surface of the molded product and the surface texture is not finished smoothly, and the content is preferably around 12% by weight. In addition, when adding and blending this auxiliary raw material, it is set so that the total amount together with the basic blend will be 100% by weight.

In addition, as the thermosetting resin in the above basic formulation, unsaturated polyester resin or acrylic resin is optimal, and as mica, in addition to naturally obtained mica, biotite, phlogopite, etc., synthetic mica may be used as is. but,
Depending on preference, these mica may be colored (can be colored in any color such as flesh color, red, gray, etc. by conventional coloring means) and used. Further, although the reinforcing material is generally glass fiber (for example, cut into about 5 ann long pieces), a reinforcing material such as ceramic fiber or ceramic whiskers may be used instead.

Specifically, the raw materials and auxiliary raw materials for the basic blend as described above are thermosetting resins (for example, unsaturated polyester resin with 30%

After that, mica is moderately dispersed on the surface of the molded product taken out from the press mold, resulting in a plastic molded product with a natural stone pattern that closely reproduces the mineral dispersion state on the surface of natural stone.
The reinforcing effect of glass fiber is significant, making it suitable for applications where strength is required. Incidentally, under the above-mentioned compounding conditions, a molded article that does not contain only glass fiber has weak strength and is prone to cranking, so it is desired to be applied to applications where strength is not required. In addition, in any of the above cases, unlike conventional methods, stone powder is not mixed at all, so there is no damage to the inside of the mold, so the mold life is the same as that of molds used for general plastic molding. It was found that it can be used for a fairly long period of time.

(Effects of the Invention) Molded products obtained by press molding such as hot press or injection molding using the natural stone pattern plastic molding material of the present invention configured as described above have extremely high dimensional accuracy and have an excellent appearance. The pattern pattern unique to mica minerals is extremely similar to the surface pattern of natural stone, and in addition, thermosetting resins such as unsaturated polyester resin and acrylic resin serve as a matrix that acts as a binder. This makes it lightweight and extremely easy to handle.

Furthermore, it can be mass-produced by known plastic molding methods such as press molding and injection molding, and can be molded into any desired product depending on the internal shape of the mold used, so it can be used for the same purposes as general plastic molded products. Therefore, it has the potential to be widely used in home appliances such as refrigerator doors, washing machines, and television receiver cabinets, where natural stones such as granite have not had any use so far.
