Conventionally, this type of crimping device has a required number of female dies equipped with a lower die punch arranged horizontally at predetermined intervals, and an upper die punch arranged so as to be movable up and down in correspondence with each of the female dies. Are known. As for the female type, in order to form the caulking joint into a so-called biting structure, the metal thin plate joining device described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 57-50224 and similar devices shown in FIGS. 6 to 8 are used. Things are being suggested.

That is, in FIGS. 6 to 8, 101 is a mounting shaft, 102 is a lower punch connected to the tip of the shaft 101, and 103 is a cylindrical shape fitted into the lower punch 102. The female mold 103 is divided into two parts, and each base end is pivotally connected to the tip of the shaft part 101 via a pin 104, and each of the female molds 103 is split outwardly with the pin 104 as a fulcrum. It opens and closes at the required angle. . Others, 1
Reference numeral 05 indicates an upper die punch which is arranged to be able to rise and fall freely corresponding to the female die 103, and 106 indicates the upper die punch 10.
The cushion material 5 is fitted, and A is the metal plate to be joined.

In the crimping device configured as described above, first, two metal plates A to be joined are placed on top of each other on the upper surface of the female die 103 (see FIG. 8A). Thereafter, the upper die punch 105 is lowered to forcibly press the metal plate A into the female die 103 and caulk it (see FIG. 8B). At this time, the female die 103 starts to gradually open outward using the pin 104 as a fulcrum under the pressure of the upper die punch 105. Furthermore, the punch 105 is lowered to lower the metal plate A to the lower die punch 10.
2, and together with the outward opening operation of the female die 103, the biting structure is caulked and joined.

However, since the female mold 103 is divided into two halves, each base end of which is pivotally connected to the tip of the shaft part 101 via a pin 104, and each of them is configured to open and close outward. , has the following drawbacks.

First of all, the opening/closing operation of the female mold 103 is done using pin 1.
04 as the fulcrum, the female mold 103 opens in an inverted figure-eight shape (see Figure 8C).
However, the caulking part tends to be insufficiently bited.

Secondly, since the female die 103 supports the pressing force of the upper die punch 105 with the pins 104, excessive force is easily applied to the pins 104, making them very likely to be damaged.

Thirdly, since the female mold 103 opens and closes using the pin 104 as a fulcrum, the pitch at which the female mold 103 is disposed is large, which in turn increases the pitch at the joint.

Fourthly, since the opening and closing operations of the female mold 103 must be performed appropriately according to the pressure of the upper mold punch 105, a special press device is required.

The female molds 6 and 26 are interlocked with the downward pressure of the upper punch 15, slide horizontally on the die 2 against the biasing member 8, and open appropriately, biting into the metal plate A and caulking it into a structure. Make sure to join. When the caulking is completed, the female molds 6 and 26 are urged by the urging member 8 to automatically close and return to their original state.

First, two metal plates A to be joined are overlapped and placed on the female mold 6. At this time, the female die 6 is urged in the closing direction by the compression spring 8, and the punch hole 7 is in a closed state (see FIG. 4A). Afterwards, insert the guide pin 18 into the guide hole 1.
1 and guide it while inserting it into upper mold holder 1.
2 is lowered, the upper die punch 15 comes into contact with the metal plate A, and presses it downward. Then, the metal plate A gradually begins to curve downward. At this time, as the metal plate A curves, the female die 6 slides horizontally on the punch pad 4 against the compression spring 8 and gradually begins to open (see FIGS. 4B and 4C). Furthermore, when the upper die holder 12 is lowered and the upper die punch 15 is pressed downward, the female die 6 opens along the punch pad 4, so that the tip edge of the curved part of the metal plate A is aligned with the punch hole of the female die 6. 7 and begins to take on a biting shape. Then, when the upper die punch 15 reaches the lowering dead center, the two metal plates A are caulked into a biting structure and are securely joined (Fig. 8D
reference). When the crimping is completed, the holder 12
is raised, the upper die punch 15 is removed, and the push-up pin 9 is activated to push up the joined metal plate A and take it out from the female die 6. Then, female type 6
is urged by the compression spring 8 and returns to its original state.

Thereafter, similarly, two metal plates A may be placed on top of each other on the female die 6, and the upper die punch 15 may be lowered and pressed to caulk and join them into a biting structure.

In the above embodiment, the lower surface of the female mold 6, which is divided into two halves, is configured in a flat shape, but as shown in FIG. Of course, you may also use . Also, a compression spring 8 is used as a biasing member.
is used, but the present invention is not limited to this, and it goes without saying that other known biasing members may be used.

According to this invention, the lower die punch 3
It consists of a required number of female dies 6, 26 and an upper die punch 15 corresponding to each of the female dies 6, 26,
Each of the female molds 6 and 26 is arranged horizontally on the die 2 so as to be able to slide freely at a predetermined interval, and is formed into a two-part shape that can be opened and closed freely, and between the adjacent female molds 6 and 26. and adjacent female molds 6,
Since a biasing member 8 that always biases in the closing direction is interposed between the female dies 6 and 26, the female dies 6 and 26 are interlocked with the pressure of the upper die punch 15 and push the die 2 against the biasing member 8. The top can be slid horizontally to open properly, and the metal plate A can be bitten into the structure and caulked to securely join. Moreover, since the female molds 6 and 26, which are divided into two halves, are supposed to slide horizontally on the die 2 against the biasing member 8, they always smoothly respond to the pressure of the punch 15. It can be opened and closed, has almost no risk of damage like conventional products, and can withstand long-term use.
6 can be arranged at a small pitch, and in turn, the pitch interval at the caulking position can be made small. Moreover, the structure is extremely simple, and not only is it extremely easy to manufacture, but it can also be easily repaired.
