Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the malfunction of a system by a method wherein the value of a detecting voltage from an output voltage detecting unit is compared with the values of set voltages, set in two stages, and an alarm signal is outputted to a load upon the generation of abnormality, then, power supply is stopped with a time lag. CONSTITUTION:A system is provided with an input filter 1, a switching unit 2, opening and closing a circuit, a rectifying unit 3, an output filter 4, a load 5, an output voltage detecting unit 6, detecting the output voltage of a switching power supply, and control unit 7, comparing the values of detecting voltages from the output voltage detecting unit 6 with the values of set voltages set in two stages to output an alarm signal to the load 5 upon the generation of abnormality and, thereafter, stopping power supply with a time lag. By employing this detecting method, the backup time of the memory of the load 5 may be secured previously even when the output of the switching power supply become an abnormal voltage and the operation of the same is stopped. Accordingly, the malfunction of the system may be prevented.
