Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the data of a volatile semiconductor memory element from being destroyed by providing a static electricity discharging electrode, for which a potential is same as that of a memory card panel, in an IC memory card and providing a conductive card guide, for which the potential is same as that of the frame ground or signal ground of a system, in a system side connector. CONSTITUTION:For a static electricity discharging electrode 8 provided in the front end side surface part of a memory card 1, the potential is made same as that of a memory card panel 6. For a conductive card guide 9 provided in a system side connector 2, the potential is made same as that of the frame ground or signal ground of the system. When the IC memory card 1 is inserted to the system side connector 2, the static electricity discharging electrode 8 of the IC memory card 1 contacts the conductive card guide 9 of the system side connector 2 before the contact parts of a memory card connector 3 and of the system side connector 2 are mutually in contact. Then, charged static electricity is discharged. Thus, it is prevented that the data held in the card are destroyed by the static electricity discharge of a human body.

はシグナルグランドと同電位となしている。

が進み、メモリカードコネクタのコンタクトバネ4とシ
ステム側コネクタのコンタクトビン5が接触する瞬間ま
でには、人体の静電気は静電負放電電f!8及び導電性
カードガイド9を介して、確実に放電されているため、
メモリカードコネクタのコンタクトバネ4及びシステム
側コネクタのコンタクトビン5の間では、静電気放電は
生じない、従って、ICメモリカード1内部の揮発性半
導体メモリ素子及びその他の回路素子を実装した配線基
板のパターン上を、静電気放電電流が流れることもなく
、揮発性半導体メモリ素子の内部保持データの破壊は生

よるカード内部の揮発性半導体メモリ素子のデータ破壊
の生じない、信頼性の高いICメモリカードシステムを
提供することが出来る。
