Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to manufacture a paper-base decorating type synthetic resin injection-molded item at low cost by a method wherein papers and thin layer material are put one upon the other and arranged between molds so as to face the papers to an injection port and, after molten synthetic resin is injected, cooled down and solidified, the thin layer material is separated from the papers and the molds. CONSTITUTION:When synthetic resin is molded with an injection mold, in which a required cavity 3 is formed between a male mold 1 and a female mold 2, papers 5 and thin layer material 6, the strength of which is higher than the papers, are arranged on a parting face 20 under the conditions that the papers and the tin layer material are put one upon the other without being bonded to each other so as to face the papers 5 to an injection nozzle 4. By injecting molten synthetic resin 7 from the injection nozzle 4 in the cavity 3, the cavity 3 is filled with the synthetic resin 7, resulting in bonding the papers 5 onto the surface of the resin and bringing the thin layer material 6 at the back of the papers 5 into close contact with the inner surface of the male mold 2. The papers 5 are neither broken by the injection pressure and resin temperature nor stuck to the female mold surface and completely bonded only to the surface of the resin. At the releasing of the mold, the thin layer material 6 automatically separate from both the papers 5 and the molds by means of parting force.

Injection molding is widely used as a manufacturing method for synthetic resin products due to its advantages such as productivity and freedom in design and coloring. Incidentally, the appearance of this type of product is important, and for containers such as cosmetic containers, eye-catching and highly decorative decorations are required, and a number of decoration techniques have been proposed for a long time.

Paper has the advantage of having a higher degree of freedom in design, color, etc. than cloth, and low material costs, but the conventional methods for decorating this type of paper are: - Injecting a synthetic resin injection molded product into the membrane. The method used was to make paper and glue it to the paper using a suitable adhesive. However, this method requires a large number of man-hours and troublesome work, so the varnish is 1 to 1 high, and there is a problem that a good product cannot be obtained.

As a countermeasure to this problem, a method of placing paper on the parting surface of a mold and performing injection molding may be considered. However, as is well known, paper is thin, has poor strength, and is greatly affected by heat.

Therefore, with this method, the paper may be damaged due to the injection pressure.
Problems such as getting into the resin or sticking to the cavity due to the resin temperature and making it impossible to remove occur frequently, and the yield of non-defective products becomes extremely low.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention, when injection molding synthetic resin products, polymerizes paper and a thin layer material with higher strength than the paper, and furthermore, the paper is placed between the molds so that it faces the injection hole. The hot molten synthetic resin is injected through the injection hole, cooled,
After solidification, the thin layer material is peeled off.

The paper material 5 and the thin layer material 6 may be temporarily attached to the parting surface with tape or the like, but from the viewpoint of productivity, rolls are used, and they are extended outside the mold and then used with a pinch roller or the like. It will be moved using a feeding device.

After the paper 5 and the thin layer material 6 are stretched over the parting surface 20 as described above, the molten synthetic resin 7 is injected into the cavity 3 from the injection nozzle 4. As a result, the cavity 3 is filled with the synthetic resin 7, the paper 5 is adhered to the surface of the cavity 3, and the thin layer material 6 behind the paper 5 is attached to the inner surface 21 of the male die 2.

Since the paper 5 is backed up by the thin layer material 6,
It is completely bonded only to the resin surface without being damaged by injection pressure or resin temperature, and without sticking to the female mold surface.

After cooling, the male mold 1 and the female mold 2 are opened and the molded product 8 is taken out. The thin layer material 6 is not adhered to the paper 5 and easily separates from the skin due to the difference in material, and also because one side is not adhered to the surface of the female mold 2, the paper 5 and the paper 5 are automatically separated by the mold release force. It is peeled off from both sides of the mold. Of course, if the roll type is not used, it may be removed manually or mechanically after being taken out as the molded product 8, and in this case as well, it can be easily peeled off. Since the thin layer material 6 is not worn out, it can be used repeatedly.

FIG. 5 shows a second method of the invention. This method is a suitable example for products such as cosmetic containers whose decorated surfaces are subject to abrasion or where moisture or the like adheres. That is, in this case, the female mold 2 is provided with an injection nozzle 4, and the paper 5 is placed so as to face the injection nozzle 4. A transparent resin is used as the synthetic resin. According to this method, the paper 5 is glued to the inner surface of the product and can be seen through from the outer surface, so
It can be adapted to the above purpose.

The present invention as described above makes good use of the characteristics of paper, which has rich and elaborate colors, patterns, designs, and unique textures, and is relatively inexpensive, while also preventing damage caused by injection pressure and resin heat, which are its weaknesses. It can be integrated into the synthetic resin without sticking to the cavity, and does not require complicated lamination work with adhesives, so it has excellent effects such as efficient molding at low cost. It will be done.
