Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape or sheet of which the rear of a substrate layer is given a releasing effect without using a release agent, the releasing effect being maintained for a long time even when the tape or sheet is kept wound or stacked, by laminated a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer with the substrate layer comprising a polyolefin resin and rubbing the rear of the substrate layer with a solid object. CONSTITUTION:After laminating a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (e.g. a layer comprising a mixture of a hydrogenated styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer with a tackifying resin) with a substrate later comprising a polyolefin resin (e.g. polyethylene), the rear of the substrate layer, i.e., the reverse side of the surface with which the adhesive layer is laminated, is rubbed with a solid object, e.g. a gauze wound around a roll.

(Prior Art) Adhesive tapes or sheets in which an adhesive layer is formed on a base material made of a polyolefin resin are conventionally known.
The product form of such adhesive tape or sheet is as follows:
Usually, it is wound up into a coil to form a rolled body, or it is stacked by stacking pieces of standard length in several stages. In either case, the adhesive layer on the upper layer and the back of the base material on the lower layer will come into close contact with each other, making it difficult to unwind or peel off the adhesive layer during use. A so-called peeling process is performed on the back side of the material. One commonly used method for this peeling treatment is to apply a release agent to the back surface of the substrate in advance, and the release agents include long-chain alkyl group-containing polymers (e.g. polyvinyl stearyl carbamate), silicone polymers, etc. Examples include perfluoro polymers.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) However, these release agents increase material costs and require a complicated application process, which increases production costs.
Furthermore, even after the product is manufactured, the release agent migrates to the adhesive layer, resulting in a problem of crystalline weight, which causes a decrease in the adhesive strength of the adhesive layer.

On the other hand, the recently proposed technology described in JP-A No. 61-103975 simplifies the process by molding and laminating the base material layer and the adhesive layer at the same time by co-extrusion, and This is one of the technologies that is attracting attention as an excellent technology in terms of quality as it improves the adhesion of the layer, but it is still necessary to perform a peeling treatment on the back side of the base material, and in this case, it is necessary to apply peeling treatment to the back side of the base material in advance. The problem becomes even more serious because it cannot be processed and there are restrictions on the timing of processing.

Usually, the base material layer is manufactured by extrusion molding a polyolefin resin material using an extruder using an inflation method or a T-die method. Crystals are generated in the process of cooling the resin, and these crystals form microscopic irregularities on the surface of the base material. These irregularities are smoothed by the abrasion force applied during the friction treatment, and a peeling effect is realized. If the back surface of the base material and the adhesive layer are in close contact with each other when the uneven state is made into a roll or laminate without any other peeling treatment, the adhesive that forms the adhesive layer may The agent is reduced into the recesses, increasing the adhesive (adhesion) area and increasing the adhesive (adhesion) force, and the recesses also provide an anchoring effect, increasing the peeling force. This can be understood by observing the surface of the base material having the back surface subjected to the friction treatment of the present invention and the surface of the base material without the friction treatment using a surface scanning microscope. In other words, in the former case, there are almost no microscopic irregularities and a very smooth surface is formed, whereas in the latter case, there are spherulites around several tens of microns and fibrils of several microns or less. Innumerable crystals are formed, forming microscopic irregularities.

(Function) In the adhesive tape or sheet of the present invention, a base layer made of a polyolefin resin and an adhesive layer are laminated, and the back surface of the base layer is friction-treated with a solid, so that extrusion is possible. In the cooling process after molding, minute irregularities formed on the surface of the polyolefin resin sheet by spherulites with a diameter of several tens of microns and fibrillar crystals with a diameter of several microns or less are smoothed.

In Example 12 of the present invention, after being made into a roll, the unfolding force is maintained low even after time in a practical temperature range, and the tape does not undergo elongation deformation when peeled off from the roll. It can be seen that there is no change in the adhesive strength to SUS after peeling off. It can be seen that in the comparative example, the spreading force increases over time, and the tape stretches and deforms and curls, making it virtually unusable.

(Effects of the Invention) The adhesive tape or sheet of the present invention has a ridged structure and does not use a release agent, so the manufacturing process is simplified and the process required for release treatment is also simple and can be implemented in-line. It is possible to provide a product that has good unwinding properties even after aging, can maintain its peeling force over a long period of time, and has no adverse effects on quality such as contaminating the surface of the adhered material.
