【発明の詳細な説明】
〔産業上の利用分野〕
本発明は電子写真方式を用いた複写機,プリンタ,ファ
クシミリ等の装置における感光体に関し、特にエンドレ
スベルト状感光体及びその製造方法に関する.
〔従来の技術〕
従来,この種のエンドレスベルト状感光体は,PHτ等
のフィルム上に導電層を形成し,その上にスプレーコー
ティング法,スビンナーコーティング法,ワイヤーバー
コーティング法,ブレードコーティング法,フローコー
ティング法等により、感光層を順次積層し,積層したフ
ィルムの両端部を数111で接合していた.
〔発明が解決しようとする課題〕
上述した従来のエンドレスベルト状感光体は、感光層を
スプレーコーティング法,ブレードコーティング法,フ
ローコーティング法等で積層した後、この積層フィルム
の両端部を接着等により接合しており、接合部分は突起
状となり,実際電子写真方式の装置で印字を行う場台,
接合部分を検知し電子写真方式の帯電,露光,i像,イ
レース等の工程を必要によりスキップさせる必要があり
,接合部分の検知機,スキップ機構等により装置が複雑
となり,また,接合部分の突起部分はクリーニングブレ
ードをキズ付けたりするという欠点を有していた.
また,予め筒状になっている無接台エンドレスベルト状
基体に感光層を形成しようとするならば,平面上にコー
ティングするのとは異なり,スプレーコーティング法,
ブレードコーティング法,フローコーティング法では均
一な膜厚で製膜することが困難であった.また、浸漬塗
工により製膜する場合は、円状の*京塗工したのでは,
多数個を一度に塗工しようとした場合,各々の基体間の
むだな空間が多くなるために、大量生産することが難し
いという欠点があった.
本発明の目的は前記課題を解決したエンドレスベルト状
感光体及びその製造方法を提供することにある.
〔課題を解決するための手段〕
前記目的を達成するため,本発明はエンドレスベルト状
感光体において、継目のない円筒状フィルムを基体とし
たものである.また、本発明はエンドレスベルト状感光
体の製造方法において,継目のない無接合エンドレスベ
ルト状基体を塗布液中に浸漬させて塗膜を形成するもの
である.また、浸漬塗布方法で塗膜を形成する際、継目
のない無接合エンドレスベルト状基体を楕円状に細長く
変形させて塗膜を形成するものであり、継目のない無接
合エンドレスベルト状基体の内径に治具をあてがい、該
基体を楕円状に細長く変形させるものである.
〔実施例〕
以下,本発明の実施例を図により説明する.(実施例1
)
第1図,第2図(a)において、本発明に係るエンドレ
スベルト状感光体1は継目のない円筒状PETフィルム
を基体とするものであり、該無接合エンドレスベルト状
基体1aはその肉厚が約0.1■であるために、第2図
(b)に示すように楕円状に変形させることが可能であ
る.
第3図は無接合エンドレスベルト状基体1aを固定する
固定治具を示すものであり,該固定治具6は対をなす基
体保持駒7,8を有し、一方の基体保持駒8はスライド
ガイド9により案内されてスライド方向lOにスライド
し、かつスプリングl1にて離間する方向に付勢されて
いる.また,基体保持駒7,8の最外周は半円状部7a
, 8aとして形成してあり、その両側は該半円状部7
a, 8aに連続する直線状部7b, 8bとして形成
してある.したがって,スプリングl1に抗して対をな
す基体保持駒7,8間を狭めてこれを第2図(a)に示
すエンドレスベルト状基体1aの内径にあてがい,その
後,一方の基体保持駒8をスライドガイド9に沿ってス
ライドさせスプリング1lのばね力にて両基体保持駒7
,8間を拡げ,エンドレスベルト状基体laを第2図(
b)に示すように楕円状に変形保持させる.
.次に,楕円状に変形させたまま無接金エンドレスベル
ト状基体1aを第4図に示す塗布タンク12の塗布液1
3中に浸漬し塗布を行う.浸漬塗布は、まず最初に導電
塗料中に浸漬し,基体la上に導電層2を形成した後、
順次、下引き層3.電荷発生層4.電荷移動層5を形成
し,第1図に示す無接合エンドレスベルト状感光体・1
を得た.(実施例2)
実施例1と同様の無接合エンドレスベルト状基体1aを
第5図に示すエンドレスベルト状基体取り付け固定治具
を用い,その5対の基体保持駒7,8間にそれぞれ張り
渡して第2図(&1)に示すように楕円状に変形させ、
第6図ω及び(b)に示すように同時に5個のエンドレ
スベルト状基体1aの浸漬塗布を行い,導電眉2,下引
き層3,電荷発生層4,電荷移動M5を形成し,同時に
5個の無接合エンドレスベルト状感光体1を得た.
〔発明の効果〕
以上説明したように本発明はエンドレスベルト状感光体
に継目が存在しないため,電子写真方式の装置における
帯電,露光.1!1像,イレース,転写等の各工程の配
置がやり易く,特番こ多色印字を行う場合,各色の現像
器の配置がやり易−1.そして、従来のベルト状感光体
では、突起状の接合部分のため、電子写真方式の各工程
をスキツプさせていたが,無接合なエンドレスベルト状
感光体を用いることにより、各工程をスキツプさせる必
要がなく、装置をコンパクトにすることができる.さら
に、無接合エンドレスベルト状感光体の製造において、
浸漬塗布方法により安定した均一膜厚の塗膜を形成でき
,また無接合エンドレスベルト状基体を細長く変形させ
て塗膜を形成することにより、同時に多数個の無接合エ
ンドレスベルト状基体を塗布することができ、大量生産
に適した製造方法を提供することができるという効果を
