Abstract

PURPOSE:To safely and surely execute branching and connecting in a hot-line state by longitudinally scoring the coating around fibers to the extent of not arriving at the fibers, then separating the fibers by each required number of fibers while tearing the coating between the fibers without using a blade. CONSTITUTION:The coating of the ribbon of coated fibers formed by arraying plural optical fibers in one row and integrally coating the fibers is first scored on the surface along the boundaries between the fibers to be branched of the ribbon of coated fibers 2 in order to branch the tape fibers in the longitudinally torn form in the hot-line state. The coating is longitudinally scored to about the extent at which the scores doe not arrive at the fibers. The fibers of the one group bordering at the formed scores and the fibers of the other group are respectively held. The held fibers of the one and the other groups are relatively moved in the direction intersecting with the plane of the ribbon of optical fiber and the holding points of the optical fibers of the respective groups are moved in the longitudinal direction of the ribbon of coated optical fibers, by which the fibers are branched.

Alternatively, it is common to use a knife to remove the coating, but the use of such a knife does not eliminate the risk of accidentally damaging the wire, and it relies on manual labor. There is also a risk that the wire may be bent strongly during the work. Therefore, branch connection methods having such problems are unsuitable for working with optical fibers that are live, ie, transmitting signals.

vui After the tape core wire 2 at the predetermined position is torn,
When the upper holding member 30 is opened and the tape core wire 2 is taken out, the branching operation is completed. Moreover, by opening the upper holding member 30, the engagement between the engagement protrusion 26 and the engagement hole 32 is released,
As a result, the lower holding member 23 moves in the direction of the arrow in FIG. 4 along with the elastic return of the spring 24, and returns to the initial position (the position shown in FIG. 4) while protruding the push button 25.

In addition, in the above operation, by moving the separating tool or shearing tool using a member such as a rail and using this member as a ruler, the tape core wire is aligned with the groove of the separating tool or shearing tool. It is possible to maintain the straight line and prevent the phenomenon of being bent extremely small.

Further, when holding the tape cable core 2, it is desirable to use a ramp as shown in FIG. 1O to prevent it from being excessively bent near the holding location. That is, this jig has elastic members 41 and 4 made of rubber or the like curved into a cylindrical surface inside a metal main body 40 bent in a U-shape.
1 are provided facing each other, and the tape core wire 2 is sandwiched between them. By holding the tape core wire 2 using such a ramp, it is possible to prevent the tape core wire 2 from being bent at an extremely small curvature during the process of moving the tape core wire 2 in the longitudinal direction.

In addition, in the explanation of the branching method in the above embodiment,
I tried to make a scratch along the border that should be cut in advance, but
As shown in FIG. 11, there is a case where two sets of tape core wires, each consisting of a pair of strands 2a, are further integrated by an outer coating, and a tape core wire having a structure is to be branched. As shown with 2d, when branching a tape core wire that has a part that is easy to cut (a part where the thickness is thin and the shearing force is concentrated and is cheap), the scratching process is omitted and the main shearing is performed. Even if a shearing force is directly applied using a tool, the wires can be branched into a predetermined number of wires.

As is clear from the above explanation, with the configuration of the invention described in claim 1 of the present application, vertical scratches are made on the xi around the strands to such an extent that they do not reach the strands, and then It is possible to separate the required number of strands by tearing the coating between the strands without using wires, and it is possible to perform branching work without adversely affecting the information being transmitted in a live communication path. This has the effect of being able to do the following.

In addition, in the configuration of the invention described in claim 2 of the present application, the optical fiber ribbon is inserted into the groove on the base,
A part of the area to be divided is pressed by the end holding member and held in the groove, and in this state, by pressing with the central holding member, the cutlery provided in the central holding member and the groove opposite thereto is removed. By biting into the coating of the optical fiber tape and moving the tool in the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber tape in this state, it is possible to make scratches on the surface of the optical fiber tape that serve as boundaries for division.

Furthermore, with the structure of the invention described in claim 3 of the present application, an optical fiber ribbon is inserted into a groove provided on the base, and a part of the optical fiber ribbon is touched with a finger. A predetermined number of strands of wire can be accommodated in the grooves of the upper and lower members by pressing it with one member of the upper holding member while holding it, and pressing it with the other member while being held by this one member. . Next, by moving the lower holding member on the base, a shearing force is applied between the part held by the upper holding member and the part held by the lower holding member, and further, in this state, By moving the tool in the length direction of the optical fiber ribbon, the coating between one group of strands and the other group of strands is torn and the two are separated.

Furthermore, the configuration of the invention described in claim 4,
The relative positional displacement of the upper holding member and the base is regulated by the guide members on these sides, and the groove formed in the guide member allows the core wire inserted approximately half way into the groove of the lower holding member. Therefore, it is possible to easily attach the conductor to the device during the separation operation, and to accurately position the conductors in relation to the grooves, which are separated from each other by shearing, to prevent damage to the conductors. This has the effect of being able to prevent.

Furthermore, according to the invention described in claim 5,
By fitting the spherical surface and the four parts, the upper holding member and the base can be interconnected, and therefore the upper holding member can be reliably prevented from opening due to reaction force during shearing.
