Abstract

PURPOSE:To execute the separation of a fiber without damaging a core wire by setting a multicore tape fiber to a guiding means, pressing it with a pressing means, stabbing a blade member in a prescribed position between the fibers and pulling out the tape fiber in a longitudinal direction in such a condition. CONSTITUTION:By a guiding means 9, the end of a multicore tape fiber 12 is set at the prescribed position. A blade member 10 having a cutting blade directed in the longitudinal direction of the fiber 12 is stabbed in the prescribed position between the fibers of the fiber 12 set to a guiding means 15. Further, by pressing means 4 and 5, the fiber 12 set to the guiding means 15 is pressed so as to be pulled out in the longitudinal direction. In such a condition, the tape fiber 12 is pulled out to a foreground, and the end of the multicore tape fiber made into a cable can be easily separated into a single core or 2-3 core tape fibers without damaging the core wire.

(Prior art and problem to be solved by the invention) When fusion splicing multi-core tape fibers, for example, 4-core tape fibers, or a 4-core tape fiber and a single-core fiber, first
It is necessary to separate the ends of the core tape fibers into single or double tape fibers over approximately 50 to 60 centimeters. A jig is required to separate a multi-core tape fiber into single-core or two to three-core tape fibers, but conventionally there has been no jig that can easily separate the core wires without damaging them.

(Means for Solving the Problem) In order to achieve the above object, the tape fiber separator of the present invention includes a guide means for setting the end of the multicore tape fiber in a predetermined position, and a guide means for setting the end of the multicore tape fiber in the longitudinal direction of the tape fiber. a blade member having a cutting edge facing toward the guide means and piercing a predetermined position between the fibers of the tape fiber set in the guide means; and a pressing means pushing the tape fiber set in the guide means so as to be able to be pulled out in a longitudinal direction. It is characterized by having the following.

(Function) The guide means sets the tape fiber at a predetermined position relative to the blade member, and serves as a guide when pulling out the tape fiber in the longitudinal direction. When a tape fiber is set on this guide means and pressed by a pressing means, a blade member sticks into a predetermined position between the fibers of the tape fiber, and when the tape fiber is pulled out in the longitudinal direction in this state,
The ends of the tape fibers are separated into a predetermined number of core tape fibers.

1 to 4 show a tape fiber separator according to the present invention, and the separator 1 of this embodiment separates the end of a 4-core tape fiber into 2-core tape fibers. The upper and lower arms 4.5 are composed of upper and lower blocks 2.3, an upper arm 4 to which the upper block 2 is fixed to one end, and a lower arm 5 to which the lower block 3 is fixed to one end.
The other ends of the two are rotatably supported by a support shaft 7. The upper and lower arms 4.5 constantly separate and expand the upper and lower blocks 2.3 by the biasing force of the spring 8.

The upper and lower blocks 2 and 3 have rectangular contact surfaces 2 that contact each other.
a, 3a, and has a substantially symmetrical shape with respect to the contact surfaces 2a, 3a. A separation bottle 10 serving as a blade member is installed upright at a central position near the tip edge (the edge opposite to the support shaft 7) of the contact surface 3a of the lower block 3. A total of 8 guide pins 9, 4 sets of 2 ends, are implanted at predetermined intervals in the lateral direction at symmetrical positions sandwiching an axis of symmetry extending in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (lateral direction) of the lower arm 5. has been done. Each set of guide pins 9 is implanted at a distance corresponding to the tape width of the tape fiber 12, which will be described later, and whose ends are separated into two-core tape fibers by the separator 1. The zero separation pin 1O, which sets the tape fiber 12 at a predetermined position with respect to the above-mentioned separation bin 10, has a cutting edge in the longitudinal direction of the tape fiber 12 guided by the guide pin 9 (described later). (See Figure 5 or Figure 6).

A slit 2C is cut in the abutment surface 2a of the upper block 2 at a central position corresponding to the separation and 710 along the longitudinal direction of the upper arm 4 at a predetermined depth from the tip edge,
Further, holes (not shown) are bored into which the ends of guide pins 9 implanted in the lower block 3 are loosely fitted. These holes and slits 2C are the contact surfaces 2 of the upper and lower blocks 2 and 3.
When a and 3a are brought into contact and polymerized, the slit 2c serves as an escape to avoid interference between the guide pin 9 and separation pin 10 and the upper block 2, and also serves as a slit to remove chips and the like generated from the tape fiber 12 to be separated and cut. Form a passageway for drainage. Recesses 2b and 3b are formed on contact surfaces 2a and 3a between the two sets of left and right guide bins 9 of the upper and lower blocks 2.3.

The above-mentioned separator 1 can be assembled by an operator using the upper and lower arms 4 and 5 with one hand.
It is large enough to hold the tape fiber 12,
The location where you want to separate from the terminal (for example, 50~
After inserting it between the guide pins 9 at a position of about 60 cm),
Firmly grip the upper and lower arms 4.5 and press the tape fiber 12 against the lower block 3 with the upper block 2 so that the upper and lower blocks 2.3 sandwich the tape fiber 12. Then,
When the separation pin 10 is at a predetermined position of the tape fiber 12, i.e.
As shown in FIG. 5, the cutting edge penetrates the tape fiber 12 and sticks into the middle position of the four optical fibers 12a arranged at predetermined intervals. And upper and lower arms 4
.. When the tape fiber 12 is pulled toward hand while holding the handle 5, the tape fiber 12 is cut open in the longitudinal direction along the two-dot chain line shown in FIG. 6, and the end of the tape fiber 12 is divided into two two-core tape fibers. At this time, since the upper block 2 presses the tape fiber 12 against the lower block 3 and the guide pin 9 guides the side edge of the tape fiber 12, a predetermined positional relationship between the tape fiber 12 and the separation pin 10 is maintained. The end of the tape fiber 12 can be accurately separated in the longitudinal direction at a predetermined position.

Note that the end separation position of the tape fiber is not limited to the central position shown in the above-described embodiment, but the end of a four-core tape fiber may be separated into one single-core and three-core tape fiber. Furthermore, the tape fibers to be separated are not limited to those with four cores, but can be applied to tape fibers with two or more cores.

Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 5, if the arrangement interval of the optical fibers 12a of the tape fiber 12 is narrow, there is a risk that the separation bin 10 may damage the optical fibers 12a, but if two separation bins, upper and lower, are used, , such concerns will be resolved.

(Effects of the Invention) As described in detail above, the tape fiber separator of the present invention includes a guide means for setting the end of the multicore tape fiber at a predetermined position, and a cutting section extending in the longitudinal direction of the tape fiber. A blade member that has a blade and pierces a predetermined position between the fibers of the tape fiber set in the guide means, and a pressing means that presses the tape fiber set in the guide means so that it can be pulled out in the longitudinal direction. Therefore, it is possible to easily connect the terminals of multi-core tape fibers into cables without damaging each optical fiber installed in the cable.
It can be separated into forms such as core tape fibers.
