【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 (1) 大径の軸部材に形成された段数が少なくと
も2段以上、かつ段差が大きい多段部の表面全領
域を焼入れする装置が、上記多段部の軸方向周面
に倣いつつ所定間隙を隔てて対向可能な複数の加
熱導体を具えたヘアピン型誘導加熱コイルと、当
該コイルの一方端に近接配置され、軸部材の軸線
を中心線として開閉可能な割型冷却装置とからな
り、上記割型冷却装置の一半と他半それぞれは多
段部を形成する複数径周面それぞれの半周と所定
間隙を隔てて個別かつ独立して対向可能な複数の
半円弧状冷却ジヤケツトを有し、閉位置で一半側
および他半側の相対応する半円弧状冷却ジヤケツ
トそれぞれが合一して複数の環状ジヤケツトを形
成するとともに、相隣る環状ジヤケツト端面間に
所定間隔が維持され、開位置で軸部材の最大径部
が通過可能に設定されてなる大径軸部材の多段部
表面焼入れ装置。 (2) 環状ジヤケツトそれぞれの内周面が軸部材
の軸線に平行であり、軸線直角に冷却流体を噴射
