In conventional film connections of this type, the terminal end of the film consumed by the forming and filling machine is overlapped with the leading end of the film to be replenished next, and the connection is made with adhesive. Then the thickness will be doubled. When the thus connected film is passed between the upper die U and lower die L of the pressure forming machine as shown in Fig. 1A to form a recess in the film, the consumed film f 1 and the next replenished film f 2
Due to the thickness T of the connecting part, the upper mold U and lower mold L cannot be completely closed, causing molding defects in a wide range of front and back including the wide overlapping joint part of width D, and the film is damaged. There is a problem that it cannot be used effectively and becomes uneconomical.

In other words, when forming the film in units of 3 x 3 sheets as shown in Figure 1B, 9 concave sheets are formed in 1 rod, but in the conventional overlapping connection, the connection part is formed in the mold. The part located within is 1
All of the lots were defective, and all nine sheets had to be discarded.

In order to solve this technical problem, the present invention
In the method of connecting a long film with its trailing end and leading end butting each other, the terminal of the consumed preceding film is detected,
The process of bending and deflecting the leading edge of the succeeding film to be replenished in the same direction and cutting off the excess length with the trailing edge of the leading film and the leading edge of the succeeding film overlapping; By overlapping and gluing another thin connecting piece over the end, a film connecting part is obtained in which the cut surfaces are butted against each other.

In addition, in order to carry out this method, a pair of film guide rollers are arranged with an interval in the substantially horizontal direction in the traveling direction of the film which runs in the substantially horizontal direction; A pair of film holders are provided below the film that can be opened and closed in the horizontal direction and form a V-shape when closed, and a film cutter is provided below the film holders. Further above, a film deflection mechanism is provided which pushes down the rear end of the leading film and the leading edge of the following film between the open film holders, and above the running film, the lower end thereof is pointed in a V-shape. A connecting thin piece connecting mechanism is arranged to be movable up and down, and when the connecting mechanism is lowered, the V-shaped lower end is placed on top of the film to be connected on the V-shaped concave surface of the film holder in the closed state. The device is configured such that the thin connecting piece is pressed by the connecting device.

According to the present invention, the terminal end of the consumed film and the leading end of the refilled film are butted end-to-end and connected with a thin connecting piece such as adhesive tape, so that the connected part does not become thick. This solves the problem of conventional overlapping connections where the upper and lower molds cannot be closed, resulting in defective molding of the film before and after the joint (all of one lot). You can use it without wasting it.

Arms 17 and 17', which can be oscillated and rotated, are attached to 6', respectively. A film deflection plate 19 is attached to the arm 17 with a gap 18 between it and the guide roller 4 through which the film can run. Similarly, a gap 18' is provided in the arm 17', and the film deflecting plate 1 is connected to the arm 17'.
9' is attached.

As is clear from the above illustrated embodiments, according to the present invention, the end portion of the consumed film and the leading end portion of the refilled film are bent in the same direction so as to be aligned, and the film is cut while stacked in the same direction. At the same time, the films are connected by overlapping and bonding separately prepared thin pieces. Therefore, if a material that is sufficiently thin and easily heat-softened is used as the thin connection piece, the upper and lower molds will be in complete contact with each other during molding in the process shown in Figure 5A, unlike in the past, and molding defects will be avoided. Prevented. In addition, since the extra length of the film is cut off to make a butt connection, the only unusable part after molding is the position of the thin connection piece t with a narrow width d, so the connection is made as shown in Figure 5B. Thin piece t
Only one row (three sheets) of sheets at the position need to be discarded as defective. Therefore, 6 defective sheets are reduced compared to FIG. 1B, and the yield is improved. In addition, chips from the extra length are generated at the same position, making it easier to remove them.

Further, an apparatus for carrying out this method includes a deflecting mechanism that bends and deflects the ends of both films in the same direction, and a pair of guide rollers provided at intervals in the film traveling direction. It is only necessary to have an opening/closing film holder, a cutter, and a connection mechanism for a thin connection piece, and the configuration is simple, operation is reliable, and the excess length of the film can be cut and connected continuously and automatically. can.
