Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a craped nonwoven fabric having high softness and uniform texture durable over a long period by rotating a roll having embossing protrusions on the surface to transfer a nonwoven fabric and pressing a pressing member against the running nonwoven fabric. CONSTITUTION:A nonwoven fabric A is inserted between a roll 1 having columnar embossing protrusions 2 having a definite height on the surface of the roll and a pressing member constructed of a primary surface 3, a sand paper 4, a pair of steel plates 5a, 5b, a pair of primary backup plates 6a, 6b and a pressure plate 7. The pressing member is pressed against the nonwoven fabric A while transferring the fabric by the rotation of the roll 1.

Such crepe processing is conventionally performed using the following flexible processing equipment. That is, as shown in a partial sectional view of the surface in FIG. 6, it has a roll 50 that rotates and sequentially feeds the nonwoven fabric on the surface, and a pressing body that presses the nonwoven fabric is provided opposite to the outer surface of the roll 50. Tungsten carbide particles having a particle size of 10 to 44 μm are thermally sprayed and adhered to the surface of the roll 50 to form fine irregularities 51 to increase the frictional resistance in one shift. The nonwoven fabric is continuously pushed into the cavity space formed between the roll 50 and the pressing body by the rotational action and frictional action of the roll 50, and tends to be pulled back by the pressure of the pressing body and the frictional force of the pressing body. Crepe processing is performed by moving forward while becoming .

When crepe processing is performed for a long time, wear occurs on the tops of the embossed protrusions that are provided to protrude from the roll surface. Even if the top part of the roll wears down, the embossed protrusions are columnar, so even if the roll is considerably scraped, it can maintain its original frictional resistance.

The nonwoven fabric is continuously fed into the cavity space between the pressing body and the roll by being pushed by the rotational force of the roll and the frictional force of the embossed protrusions on the roll surface. The nonwoven fabric in the cavity space is dragged by the rotation of the rolls and tries to move forward, but the forward movement of the nonwoven fabric tends to be pulled back by the pressure and frictional force of the pressing body. The nonwoven fabric is bent into a wave shape by the frictional force between the rolls and the pressing body that apply force in opposite directions, and the filaments inside the garment also appear as if they have been crimped, imparting softness to the entire nonwoven fabric. .

<Example 1> Diameter 4 provided with an embossed protrusion 2 protruding in the shape of a square prism with a substantially constant height h as shown in FIGS. 5(1) and (2)
Using a cylindrical roll 1 with a diameter of 0.00 mm, a softening apparatus as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 is constructed using a clay bar. The pressing body is provided on the roll 1, with a primary surf ace 3, a sand vapor 4 on top, a steel plate 5a, a rubber circle, a steel plate 5b, and two primary backup blades 6a and 6b on top of it. They are stacked one on top of the other, and a pressure plate 7 is further set thereon.

In the roll used in this example, since the embossed protrusion 2 provided on the roll has a columnar shape with vertical side surfaces from the top to the base, the top 3B of the embossed protrusion 2 is slightly worn, as shown in Fig. 5 (2).
) Even if the height h of the embossed protrusions is reduced, there is no major change in the embossed shape and the frictional resistance field can be maintained for a period of time. In other words, it is possible to extend the life of the rolls, stabilize the quality of embossing, and speed up production start-up.
