Abstract

PURPOSE:To place a large number of articles in a box automatically by a method wherein plate shaped articles are piled up in order on an elevating table, a box is turned over and held upside-down, and after inserting plate shaped members in the box by ascending the elevating table, the box is turned by 180 deg. to make it stand normally. CONSTITUTION:At the tip end of a rotary frame 6 for an automatic packing device, a pair of chucks 7a, 7b are provided. A box 2 is carried in under an upside-down condition to a position 2A by a box carrying-in conveyor 8, and is chucked. When piled up plate shaped articles 1 are supplied on an elevating table 4 by an article supplying conveyor 9, the elevating table 4 is driven and reached a position 4', and an accumulation 1 of the plate shaped articles which are loaded is inserted in the box 2. The box, in which the plate shaped articles 1 are placed, comes to a position 2C accompanied with a 90 deg. turning of the rotary frame, further reaches a position 2E, and is turned over by 180 deg. and becomes upside-down. When the elevating table 4 is lifted from the box at the position 2E, a condition, where the plate shaped articles 1 are placed in the normally standing box, is given. Therefore, a large number of articles can be automatically placed in a box by a motion with one cycle.

In recent years, research has been conducted on box-packing work using robot hands, but it is not possible to store Setsubun items all at once into boxes, and one or more items must be packed multiple times to fill boxes. The same operation continues until the box is full.

However, as shown in FIG. 10(A), for example, the work of putting a large number of plate-shaped articles 1a, lb, etc. into a box 2 and storing them as shown in FIG. 10(B) is difficult. It cannot be done with one action.

Platy items are placed in the box 2 without stringing or wrapping with tape like this.
When storing the plate-shaped articles 18 to 1h in a container, it is practically impossible to hold the plate-shaped articles 18 to 1h by a pair of hooks 3a and 3b as shown in FIG. The reason for this is that the hooks 3a, 3b cannot be pulled out after the items to be stored are suspended into the box 2. When trying to make it possible to pull out the hooks 3a and 3b, the box 2 and the articles 1a~

The present invention has been made in view of two circumstances: there is no need for stringing or wrapping with tape, there is no need to provide an excessive gap between the stored items and the inner surface of the box, and it is possible to store a large number of items. It is an object of the present invention to provide a device that can automatically store items into a box in a single operation.
