Claims (1)
入力軸とステアリングギヤに接続される出力軸と
の間に加わる操舵トルクを検出する操舵トルク検
出器と、該操舵トルク検出器からの検出信号に応
じた制御手段からの制御信号により回転制御され
、前記出力軸にその回転が伝達される電動モータ
と、該電動モータと前記出力軸の間に介装され前
記電動モータの回転の前記出力軸への伝達を断続
制御するクラツチとを備えた電動パワーステアリ
ング装置において、前記入力軸を筒状に形成して
前記両軸を弾性体を介して連結し、前記操舵トル
ク検出器を前記弾性体の弾性変形に応じて操舵ト
ルクを検出するようにし且つ、前記入力軸の端部
に複数個の貫通孔を形成すると共に前記出力軸の
外周面に多面部を形成して該多面部と前記貫通孔
とが互いに重合するように前記出力軸を前記入力
軸の端部に遊嵌して、前記クラツチを前記入出力
軸と同心に且つ前記入力軸との間に〓間を残して
配置されると共に前記電動モータの回転を伝達さ
れる円筒状外輪と、前記貫通孔内に配置され前記
入力軸の回転に応じて夫々前記円筒状外輪の内周
面と前記多面部の夫々とに係合し前記円筒状外輪
と前記出力軸とを連結可能な係合部材と、前記貫
通孔内に配置され前記係合部材を前記貫通孔の前
記入力軸の回転方向側一端面に付勢する付勢手段
とから構成して、該クラツチが前記弾性体の弾性
変形により前記出力軸と前記電動モータの断続を
制御すると共に、前記クラツチの前記係合部材の
係合時に前記円筒状外輪の回転による前記係合部
材の自転を規制する自転規制手段を備えているこ
とを特徴とする電動パワーステアリング装置。 (2) 前記自転規制手段が前記出力軸の多面部外
周面に形成された環状溝に嵌着される弾性部材か
ら成ることを特徴とする請求項(1)に記載の電動
