れだけでは水漏れを完全防止できない。そこで、
該嵌合部に粘着剤や接着剤の類を押し込んで水漏
れ防止を図つているが、このような押し込み作業
はそれ自体面倒であるし、実際には外部から押し
込み量を確認できないため、押し込み量の不足に
よつて水漏れが生じたり、逆にかかる不都合を避
けるため過剰に押し込めば溢れ出た粘着剤や接着
剤の類を拭き取らなければならない。また、スト
リツプの老化による肉やせ等の経時変化により、
かならずしも充分なシーリング効果が得られない
場合がある。また、車体に窓ガラスを固定する場
合、クサビ嵌合部にこのクサビ嵌合部と略同等以
上の大きい断面に成形されたソリツドゴム製のク
サビを挿入することは容易でなく作業能率が悪い

吸水性樹脂を含んでなり、ソリツドゴムに吸水性
樹脂を混合した材料が使用される。かかる吸水性
樹脂は通常高吸水性のアクリル系重合体であり、
既に市販されているものとして例えばアクアキー
プ(商品名、製鉄化学工業社製)がある。これら
吸水性樹脂は、水と接触すると自重の数百倍の水
を吸水して膨潤し、しかも著るしく保水性能の強
