In general, small electric devices mounted on printed circuit boards, such as electromagnetic relays, are used to prevent solder flux from flowing into the device when installed on the printed circuit board, and to prevent cleaning liquid from penetrating into the device during cleaning. In order to prevent this, they are sealed.

However, in the case of electrical equipment in which a terminal piece is inserted into the side wall of a synthetic resin base so that it protrudes, and the case is fitted and sealed, the mating part of the base and case is sealed with a sealant. Even if you fill it with a sealant, the cleaning liquid may penetrate through the tiny gap between the terminal piece and the synthetic resin, and even if you fit the base and case together at the terminal piece and fill it with a sealant, it is difficult to obtain a sufficient seal. The work is manual and tends to be complicated, and it also has drawbacks such as spoiling the aesthetic appearance of the finished product.

In the figures from Fig. 1 to Fig. 3, 1 is a terminal piece made by punching out a single metal plate, insert-molding it, and then bending it.For example, in the case of an electromagnetic relay, it is used as a contact terminal or a coil terminal. , used for ground terminals, etc. 2 is a box-shaped base formed by insert molding the terminal piece 1 from synthetic resin. The base 2 has a surface opening 3, a side wall 4 and a bottom wall 5. A groove 6 is formed on the entire circumference of the side wall 4, and a groove 7 (with a tapered inner side) is similarly formed on the bottom wall 5. Further, the groove portion 6 of the side wall portion 4 and the groove portion 7 of the bottom wall portion 5 are formed so as to communicate with each other through through holes 8 and 8a. The entire surface of the terminal piece 1 is exposed within the through hole 8a where the terminal piece 1 is inserted. Reference numeral 9 denotes a case that fits into the base 2, and this case 9 is fitted so that a protrusion 10 formed over the entire circumference of the end face of the case 9 fits into the groove 6 of the side wall 4. Reference numeral 11 denotes a main body that is housed in the surface opening 3 of the base 2, and is connected to the terminal piece 1 as appropriate. 12 is a sealant filled in the groove 6, the through hole 8, and the groove 7.

By the way, when filling the sealant 12, by injecting the sealant 12 of an appropriate viscosity into the groove 7 of the bottom wall 5 with the bottom wall 5 of the base 2 facing upward, the sealant 12 is filled with the bottom wall. It passes through the through holes 8 and 8a from the groove 7 of No. 5 and fills the groove 6 provided in the side wall 4, and the minute gaps between the base 2 and the case 9 and between the terminal piece 1 and the synthetic resin of the base 2 are sealed. .

As is clear from the above description, in the sealed electric device according to the present invention, the case has a protrusion provided around the entire circumference of the end face facing the base component,
The base component has a side wall part and a bottom wall part, and a fitting groove part provided around the entire circumference of the surface side of the side wall part facing the case, and which fits into the protrusion part of the case, and a fitting groove part that fits into the protrusion part of the case, and a wide recess for injecting sealant formed on the back side of the wall; an elongated through hole for communicating the fitting groove formed in the base component with the recess for injecting sealant; and the elongated through hole. a plurality of terminal pieces arranged in the longitudinal direction of the base part and insert-molded in the base part so as to be exposed in the hole and led out from the side of the base part across the hole; and the through-hole. and a sealing agent filled into the fitting groove. Therefore,
A protrusion provided all around the end face of the case is fitted into a groove provided all around the base, and a terminal piece is insert-molded so as to be exposed in a long and narrow through hole communicating with this groove. Therefore, by filling this groove with sealant, this sealant will spread around the terminal piece and even the protrusion that fits into the groove, creating a seal between the case and the base. and a seal between the terminal piece and the base are achieved simultaneously in one step. Therefore, assembly work is simple, automation etc. are facilitated, and productivity is improved. Also,
The sealant is filled into the grooves provided in the base,
It flows only inside the base, so to speak, so it does not spoil the aesthetic appearance. Furthermore, since the recess for injecting the sealant is formed wide, it is easy to inject the sealant. Also, if you inject sealant into this recess,
This sealant flows and fills around each terminal piece, making the work easy. In other words, since the plurality of terminal pieces are lined up in the longitudinal direction of the elongated through-hole so that they are exposed, the sealant naturally spreads through the through-hole, so that all the terminal pieces are exposed. This is because the area around it will be filled with sealant. In addition, since the terminal piece is insert-molded into the base component so as to cross the through-hole, the sealant filled in the through-hole may flow out along the terminal piece to the tip side of the terminal piece, causing unnecessary damage to the terminal piece. There is no risk of it adhering to the
This also makes the work easier.
