Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve fixability, releasability, and durability by forming at least one fixing roller through the use of a core material made of hard material, an elastic layer which covers this core material, and a surface layer made of fluorinated resin which covers this elastic layer. CONSTITUTION:The core material 12 made of aluminium is formed around a shaft 11 which incorporates with a heat source lamp of the center of the inside of a heating roller 10, the elastic layer 13 made of fluoro-rubber is formed around the core material, and the surface layer 14 coated by fluorinated resin is formed around the elastic layer 13. Meanwhile, intermediate layer 22 made of hard rubber is formed around the shaft 21 of a pressing roller 20 and a surface layer 23 coated by fluorinated resin is formed around the intermediate layer. Thus, the fixing roller can be moderately deformed with the aid of the action of the elastic layer 13 and fixity becomes favorable. Releasability also becomes favorable with the aid of the fluorinated resin of the surface. Since the releasability of this fluorinated resin does never deteriorate, the durability of the fixing roller improves.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] When the surface layer is made of rubber in this way, the fixing properties are good, but there is a drawback that the mold releasability tends to deteriorate as it is used. Therefore, the life of the fixing roller is shortened. Therefore, R
It is being considered to use a fluororesin coating as a surface layer instead of TV silicone rubber. This improves mold releasability. However, fluororesin has a drawback of poor fixing properties because it lacks elasticity.

Here, the hard material refers to a material that does not easily deform, such as metal or hard plastic. Further, the elastic layer refers to a layer that easily deforms when subjected to an external force and restores its shape when the external force is removed, and can be made of rubber, sponge, or the like.

[Working] The fixing roller can be appropriately deformed by the action of the elastic layer, resulting in good fixing performance. Furthermore, the fluororesin on the surface also improves mold releasability. Unlike rubber, this fluororesin does not deteriorate its releasability, so the durability of the fixing roller is improved.

Next, the function of this embodiment will be explained. Paper 50 is arrow 5
The heating roller 10 and the pressure roller 20 press against each other and rotate while sandwiching the paper 50 between them. Due to the heat and pressure at this time, the paper 50 The toner image is fixed on the toner image. At this time, the elasticity B13 of the heating roller 10 is deformed, so that the heating roller 10 uniformly contacts the unevenness of the paper 50 and the unevenness of the toner image.Thereby, the fixing performance is good. When the paper 50 is wrapped around the heating roller 10 and comes out of the fixing device, the paper 50 is separated from the heating roller 10 by the separating claw 40 located at the rear of the heating roller 10.
separated from At this time, the paper 50 can be easily separated due to the action of the fluororesin surface layer 14 of the heating roller 10. That is, mold releasability becomes good.

[Effects of the Invention] As explained above, the present invention provides at least one of the fixing rollers with a core material made of a hard material, an elastic layer covering the core material, and a surface layer made of a fluororesin covering the elastic layer. Since it is formed from silica, the fixing properties are good due to the force of the elastic layer, and the mold release properties are also good due to the action of the fluororesin surface layer. Furthermore, since no rubber layer is used as the surface layer, the releasability does not deteriorate, and the durability of the fixing roller is improved.
