Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the output of an engine by installing an air guide passage which interlocks the air intake of a carburetor with an air inlet port onto a fairing covering the engine and permitting air to be compulsorily sent into the carburetor. CONSTITUTION:In a motorcycle equipped with a V-type 4-cylinder engine 2 whose front part, lower part and both side parts are covered by a fairing 10, each carburetor 3 is arranged with an air intake 4 directed to the front part of the car body. The air inlet ports 12 and 13 are formed on the right and left parts of the fairing 10, and an air guide passage 20 is formed on the inner side of the front wall 11 of the fairing 10. The air guide passage 20 is constituted of a laterally long box part 21 covering the air inlet ports 12 and 13 and a pipe part 22 extending towards the air intake 4 of each carburetor 3 from the rear wall 21a of the box part 20. The opened port of each pipe part 22 is set close to the opened port of each air intake 4.

[Structure of the Invention] Therefore, in the present invention, an air guide passage is provided in the fairing that covers the engine, which connects the air intake opening formed in the fairing with the air intake of the carburetor, and the air is taken in through the opening during driving. By guiding air to the carburetor through the air guide passage, the above object is achieved by forcibly feeding air into the carburetor.

The engine 2 is covered in front, below, and on both sides by a fairing 10, and the front wall 11 of the fairing 10 has air intake openings 12 and 13 formed on the left and right sides thereof. . Furthermore, an air guide passage 20 is provided on the inner side of the front wall 11. This air guide passage 20 includes a horizontally long box part 21 that covers both the air intake ports 12 and 13, and a rear wall 21a of the box part 21 to each carburetor 3 and 3.
.. 3, and the opening of each pipe part 22 faces the opening of each air intake 4. Further, inside the box section 21, there is provided a partition wall 23 that partitions the box section 21 into left and right sides.

Now, when the motorcycle 1 is running, the wind coming from the front of the motorcycle is directed by arrow 1. j! The air flows into the box portion 21 of the air guide passage 20 through the openings 12 and 13 as shown by , and then flows into the air intake 4 of each carburetor 3 through each pipe portion 22 as shown by arrows m and n. At this time,
Since air is forcibly fed into each of the air intakes 4 by the wind pressure of the traveling wind, this produces a replenishing effect and improves the output of the engine 2. Further, each pipe portion 22 in the air guide passage 20 is connected to each carburetor 3.
The pipe diameter is set so that the amount of air supplied to the cylinders is the same, and as a result, variations in the combustion state between each cylinder are suppressed, and engine output is improved due to stable operation. Furthermore, since each carburetor can be uniformly adjusted, the carb setting work becomes easier.
