Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily prepare a bacterial liquid and to improve the safety of sanitation control by attaching a cap to a test tube which houses plural pieces of spherical solid materials and is graduated. CONSTITUTION:The cap 2 made of a synthetic resin material, polypropylene is attached to the test tube 1. Plural pieces, 2-6 pieces of the spherical solid materials (balls) 3 of about the size at which the balls can rotate in contact with each other in the test tube 1 are then housed into the test tube 1. The test tube 1 is graduated with every 0.5ml or 1ml or 2ml. A funnel-shaped adapter 4 is used to facilitate the transfer of expectoriation into the test tube 1 at the time of taking the expectoriation into the test tube 1. Thereafter, 4vol of 4% sodium hydroxide is added to 1 vol specimen and the test tube 1 is hermetically closed by the cap 2. The test tube is then oscillated to uniformize the specimen. The prepn. of the bacterial liquid is thereby facilitated and the safety of sanitation control is improved.

[Background Art] In the medical field or medical field, when diagnosing a bacterial disease, it is necessary to collect a sample from a patient and test whether or not specific bacteria are detected in the sample. Ru. In this case, sputum from a patient is sometimes used as a test material, but if sputum is used as it is, it is too viscous and is therefore not suitable as a specimen for isolation culture.

Normally, chemicals are added to the collected sputum to reduce the viscosity of the sputum and homogenize it, making it a specimen for isolation and culture, but in this case, physical force must be applied to mix the medicine and sputum. Certain fungicides may be added to kill bacteria other than the target bacteria.

Conventionally, the general methods for treating sputum include: ■ Inhaling and expelling the drug and sputum with a pipette, and repeating this process to equalize the volume; ■ Storing the sputum in a container with a protrusion on the inside. However, a method is used in which the container is vibrated using a vibration VIR to equalize it.

The method described in ① above, in which the medicine and sputum are inhaled and expelled to equalize them, is a simple method, but the mixture of medicine and sputum forms bubbles, and since the container is operated with the container open, when the bubbles break, bacteria can form. This has the disadvantage that it is extremely undesirable in terms of hygiene control, as there is a possibility that the liquid may jump out of the container.

In addition, the method described in (■) above, in which a container containing sputum is vibrated with a shaker to homogenize it, can be operated without opening the container, so there is no problem in terms of safety compared to method (2) above, but it does not result in homogenization. This method cannot be said to be satisfactory either in terms of the time required or the degree of equalization.
