Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily obtain soluble shell membrane having little color and odor and useful as a raw material for cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, by decomposing shell membrane in an alkaline hydrous organic solvent, neutralizing the decomposed liquid and filtering the product. CONSTITUTION:Egg shell is decomposed in an alkaline hydrous organic solvent having an alkali concentration of 0.2-3.0N and produced by mixing an aqueous solution of an alkaline agent such as sodium hydroxide with a water-soluble organic solvent such as ethanol preferably at a ratio to give an organic solvent content of 10-80wt.%, especially 30-60wt.% based on the whole mixture. The obtained decomposed liquid is neutralized to about neutral pH with an acidic agent such as hydrochloric acid or acetic acid and foreign matters are removed with a filter or a centrifugal separator, etc., or the liquid is neutralized after removing the foreign matters. Preferably, the product is further freeze-dried and pulverized to obtain soluble shell membrane having white to pale yellow color and little odor and easily soluble in pure water and soluble in 80% ethanol.

本発明の実施に際して、まず、原料の卵殼膜を用意する

方法等を用いればよい。同、原料の卵殼膜は、卵殻が混
入していないものを用いるのが作業性上望ましいが、次
工程にて卵殼膜を処理するアルカリ性含水有機溶媒は卵
殻を溶解せず、溶解した卵殼膜と卵殻が容易に分離でき
るので、卵殻が少量混入しているものを用いても差し支
えない。また、卵殼膜は卵殻から採取したままの生状の
ものばかシでなく、この生状卵殼膜を乾燥して得られる
乾燥状のものも用いることができる。生状卵殼膜を乾燥
する場合には、卵殼膜の変性を妨ぐため80℃以下で加
熱することが望ましい。
