Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明はコンピュータシステムにおいて有償であるソフ
トウェアを不正に複写して使用されることを防止するソ
フ■・ウェア不正使用防止方法に関する。
〔従来の技術〕
従来、利用者は無断でソフトウェアを簡単に複写するこ
とが可能であり、他機種の中央処理装置であっても容易
に使用が可能であった。
〔発明が解決しようとする課題〕
上述した従来のコンピュータシステムにおいては、中央
処理装置を識別するハードウェア及びソフトウェアが無
かったため、ソフトウェアの版権の保護は利用者にまか
されていた。
〔課題を解決するための手段〕
本発明のソフトウェア不正使用防止方法はコンピュータ
システムの中央処理装置に中央処理装置固有識別番号を
記録した読み出し専用レジスタを装備し、版権が保護さ
れるべきソフトウェアの実行要求を受け取ったときに前
記ソフトウェアに書き込まれた実行許可情報を基にオペ
レーティングシステムが前記レジスタの内容と比較照合
し一致した場合のみ前記ソフトウェアの実行を継続させ
る。
〔実施例〕
次に、本発明について図面を参照して説明する。
本発明の一実施例を示す第１図及び第２図を参照すると
、１は実行が許可される中央処理装置固有識別番号を含
む実行許可情報、２は版権が保護されるべきソフトウェ
ア、３は中央処理装置、４は中央処理装置固有識別番号
を記述した読み出し専用レジスタ、５はオペレーティン
グシステムである。
この構成において、版権が保護されるべきソフトウェア
２の実行要求を受け取ると、オペレーティングシステム
５はソフトウェア２の実行許可情報１の中から実行可能
中央処理装置固有識別番号を取り出す。次に、オペレー
ティングシステム５は中央処理装置３に装備されたレジ
スタ４から中央処理装置固有識別番号を読み取り、先に
取り出した内容と比較照合する。この結果、オペレーテ
ィングシステム５は両者の内容が一致していればソフト
ウェア２の実行を継続し、一致していなければソフトウ
ェア２の実行を中断する。これによって不正に複写され
たソフトウェア２が他の中央処理装置で実行されようと
しても中央処理装置固有識別番号が異なるために実行で
きず、ソフＩ・つエフの不正使用を防止し、版権を保護
することができる。尚、版権が保護されるべきソフトウ
ェアを販売する時には、実行許可情報内の中央処理装置
固有識別番号をソフトウェアが稼動する中央処理装置の
中央処理装置固有識別番号と一致させなければならない
。
〔発明の効果〕
以」−説明したように本発明によれば、中央処理装置に
中央処理装置固有識別番号を記録した読み出ｉ−専用レ
ジスタを装備し、さらに版権を保護すべきソフトウェア
に実行許可情報どして実行可能中央処理装置固有識別番
号を持たせ、実行時に再識別番号を比較することにより
、不正に複写されたソフトウェアを他の中央処理装置で
使用することを防止し、ソフトウェアの版権を保護でき
る。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. コンピュータシステムの中央処理装置に中央処理装置固
    有識別番号を記録した読み出し専用レジスタを装備し、
    版権が保護されるべきソフトウェアの実行要求を受け取
    ったときに前記ソフトウェアに書き込まれた実行許可情
    報を基にオペレーティングシステムが前記レジスタの内
    容と比較照合し一致した場合のみ前記ソフトウェアの実
    行を継続させることを特徴とするソフトウェア不正使用
    防止方法。
