Abstract

PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the surface roughness without uncut part by disposing a cutting blade in the vicinity of the rotating center part of a bottom surface in a plane perpendicular to a rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:A cutting blade 4 is arranged so as to be extended from the outer periphery of the side surface of a tool 1 toward the center thereof, and is disposed on an imaginary spherical surface (having a radius R) which is created by the tool 1 which is rotated. A cutting blade 3 adapted to cut a part which is left as a surface after machining in the vicinity of the rotating center part and connected to the cutting blade 4 is located on the bottom surface of the tool 1, perpendicular to a rotary shaft 2. Accordingly, when a cutting margin 6 of a material 5 to be cut is cut by the tool 1, a part 7 which is left as a surface after machining is cut into a flat surface, thereby it is possible to eliminate an uncut part.

ボールエンドミル工具は、第3図に示すDうにボールエ
ンドミル50の主軸52に取り付け、主軸52によって

とにより加工を行なうものである。特に、金型など3次
元加工を必要とする加工には多く用いられている。ボー
ルエンドミル工具54は全体が円柱状で、その先端は半
球状に形成してあり、切刃56が側面から先端部までら
旋状、あるいは直線状に設けである。このボールエンド
ミル工具54が回転しながら移動して上記切刃56が加
工面58に接することにより任意の形状に加工がなされ
るようになっている。第4図は従来工具の底面図である

ところで従来のボールエンドミル50を用いた加工にお
いては、従来加工中に切刃56とボールエンドミル工具
54の進行方向が一致することによる切削不良が生ずる
ことがあった。これは第4図に示すようにボールエンド
ミル工具54の先端の切刃が1枚であること、もしくは
2枚が直線状に設けられているためであって、このよう
に設けられた切刃54が進行方向Aに一致した瞬間その
方向Aに沿って被切削面をその−!ま移動してしまうこ
とから加工面58に削り残しが生ずる。この削り残し部
分は、例えば1枚刃工具の場合、工具がもう1回転した
ときに削られるが、この間に工具は1回転当9の送りだ
け移動しておシ切刃が球面上に配置されているために削
り残し部分の高い位置を削ることになる。従って周囲に
くらべてその高さが高くなり段差がつくので加工面58
の面粗度が悪化し、仕上がりの悪いものとなっていた。

め削シ残しがなくなる。
