Abstract

PURPOSE:To always maintain a coating agent contained in a coating agent tank at nearly constant viscosity by providing a viscosity regulation device equipped with a viscosity sensing means of the coating agent, a viscosity presetting means and a solvent feeding means for feeding a solvent to the coating agent tank when the viscosity is made large to the coating agent tank. CONSTITUTION:A coating agent contained in a coating agent tank 7 is fed to a roll coater 2 via a drawing-up feed pipe 5 by driving a pump 3. In this case, the temp. of the coating agent is raised with a paint heater 4 interposed to the feed pipe 5 and its viscosity is made small and also excess coating agent is returned to the tank 7 via a return pipe 6. Furthermore, viscosity of the coating agent in the tank 7 is always sensed with a sensing means 10 and the sensed present viscosity is compared with the viscosity preset with a presetting means 11. As a result, when the viscosity of the coating agent in the tank 7 is made large, a solvent is fed into the tank 7 by actuating a solvent feeding means 12. When the viscosity of the coating agent is lowered to preset viscosity by this supply, this is sensed with a sensing means 10 and feed of the solvent from the solvent feeding means 12 is stopped.

However, by storing the paint in a paint tank, the solvent contained in the paint vaporizes and evaporates for a while, increasing the viscosity of the paint. Furthermore, the heat retained by the coating agent is carried away by the evaporation of the solvent, and the temperature of the solvent is lowered. Therefore, the viscosity of the coating material also increases as the temperature of the coating material decreases. As described above, the finish of the coating changes depending on the content of the solvent contained in the solvent and the temperature of the coating material, making it impossible to achieve a uniform coating.

Furthermore, the detection means 10 constantly detects the viscosity of the coating material using the stirring blade 9 that stirs the coating material in the coating material tank 7, and always outputs the measured viscosity. Further, the viscosity of the coating material changes due to vaporization of the coating material contained in the coating material, and the viscosity setting means 11
If the detection result is greater than the viscosity set by , the solvent supply means 12 is activated to inject a solvent to reduce the viscosity of the paint in the paint tank 7 . Further, as the viscosity of the coating material decreases to the reference value due to the injection of the solvent, the detection means 10 detects the decrease, and the solvent supply means 1

The viscosity of the paint in the return pipe 6 increases as the solvent vaporizes and evaporates, and the temperature decreases. The increase in viscosity increases the rotational resistance of the stirring blades 9 and increases the load current of the drive unit 53. Therefore, the balance with the signal from the viscosity setting means 11 is disrupted, and due to this imbalance, the liquid feeding pump 57 is activated, and the solvent tank 5
The solvent is sent to the paint tank 7 through a liquid pipe 59 sent from the paint tank 6 to dilute the paint in the paint tank 7 and lower the viscosity of the paint. Note that the feeding of the solvent is continued until the viscosity of the coating agent reaches the reference value, and when the viscosity reaches the reference value, the liquid feeding pump 57 is stopped by a signal from the detection means 10.

As described above, the coating material supplying device of the present invention includes a detection means 10 for detecting the viscosity of the coating material and a viscosity setting means 11 for determining the set viscosity value in the coating material tank in which the coating material is circulated between the roller coater and the roll coater.
Since the viscosity adjusting device 13 is provided, which includes a solvent supply means 12 for supplying a solvent to the paint tank 7 when the viscosity of the paint is high, the paint in the paint tank 7 is always maintained at a substantially constant viscosity. can. In addition, since the paint heater 4 is interposed in the supply pipe 5, the drop in temperature of the paint due to the vaporization of the solvent can be heated by the paint heater 4 and compensated for at an appropriate temperature, so that a uniform paint can always be fed to the roll coater. This makes it possible to eliminate coating unevenness and improve quality.Furthermore, when the paint heater and solvent supply means are automatically controlled as in this embodiment, it is possible to save labor in operation.
